I will say this though: I watched more than just a few documentaries or TV news about male escorts and I've seen a good amount of men who said they went into this business to support their families and couldn't get out of it because they loved it too much - not the money but, yeah, the men.
I'd totally agree with you that we could then perhaps discuss if those men aren't/weren't just bisexuals or even closeted homos.

No it isn't.
PD's argument is that trying gay sex expands your horizons and appetites. This does not entail overwriting your baseline sexuality. The end result is you have MORE variety in your desires.
Conversion therapy argues that they can replace your existing sexual appetites with the "correct" ones. The end result here is the elimination of your baseline sexuality.
You're being melodramatic honestly, PD's comment was obviously made in good fun anyway.
