Pinoy Bl Stars

I saw Gaya Sa Pelikula and it is absolutely amazing. I thought it was Taiwanese BLs doing a great job as opposed to the saccharine nonsense we get from Thailand. (No offence. There are exceptions) But this Pinky BL was everything. So can someone recommend a list of pinoy good BLs that I can watch. At this point it looks pretty daunting to go to each site to check which Is available and which is not. So your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Like in the movies and gameboys are the only ones worth watching. All the rest are just bad copies of gameboys, made on a shoestring budget. I would've recommended hello stranger, but Tony Labrusca is trash! (He molested some woman, and choked out a guy, while he was shit faced drunk).

So that’s like Taiwanese stuff? You think one is great and everything else will be and turns out not all that?!? Lol, so it once again back to Thai BLs huh! Lol!

Gaya sa Pelikula (Like in the Movies) has a soap opera feel but the writer is successful in building up the emotions (of course right now, there's a standing accusation against him by the lead actor, probably it will be a legal case for harassment) here are the other Philippine BL's that I think are worth checking, usually the way to gauge this is to watch the first two or three episodes and see whether it hooked you.
1. My Day The Series- There are many weak plots and unnecessary characters, but the lead actors are really handsome, plus in BL history, this series has the longest kiss by the main leads, the ost is beautiful. Just ignore the other side characters and couple of filler scenes. You need to watch the two OST by the director and the other by the two leads, aki and miko.

2. Lakan The Series- Very underrated, but the leads are boyfriends in real life, it's kinda rare to see this in a bl, so definitely you know that the feelings are not fake but relatable in real life. However the common comment on this series is the delivery of lines, it's a little bit poetic in tone that it seems weird and unnatural. But then again, probably that's the writer's style. However to understand the movie the trailer is a must watch, and the OST again will give you the feel and overall vibes. Fair warning though, Lakan has a strong cultural elements, so if you're not interested in strong cultural plots then probably this is not for you. But the cinematography is excellent.

3. Your Home The Series-This has three very handsome leads. You need to watch couple of episodes to understand where the story is headed. There are some minor holes in the story lines but the leads are very handsome, they're so distracting that the minor issues doesn't matter anymore.

4. Padayon The Series- is life during the pandemic set in a rural setting. It's a rich boy-poor boy kinda story. There are scenes that will really drag you, but then there are quick scenes that's shocking. I mean, once you finished the entire series, you'll realize that this is not a sweet feel good bl, for Filipinos this goes deep down because it talks about random killings, an issue that Filipinos hold really dear to their hearts because its something that's rarely covered in mainstream stories for fear and repercussions.

5. Meet Me Outside- Has a very simple story, but the two leads has that cute situation going on. Super simple plot but I mean, it was told in a really nice way. It doesn't drag, it's ok to watch.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. I was surprised nothing I was recommended by YouTube is on your list. lol! I landed up starting Gameboys but somehow it’s just too much online stuff. We are trying to have experiences offline. Lol! I don’t understand the appeal. Then I was recommended Quaranthings. It was okay except for the absolute whiny character that one character is. I mean just stop already. Lol! Then I also saw BoysLockdown which was decent as well. It’s just both these had a very single camera, no boom mic feel to me. Like they just wrote a script and gathered people in a house and began shooting. lol! They need a better budget but the fact that the Philippines has put out such content at such remarkable pace and also keeping them either good or near decent is an achievement in itself! thanks for this list. I will watch them.

oh..you're welcome. I think the main problem is monetization. If they can find major brands and sponsors similar to Thailand where major brands are really jumping in and investing on their BL actors then the production will have more budget to work on. I totally agree, you're right, there's a BL production race between Philippines and Thailand, both countries had cornered the BL market. I forgot the name of the BL there is a Mexican BL as well, now this is interesting because Mexico is known for their novelas or soap opera, if BL becomes a thing there, then they already had the experience to make a really quality BL...

Hey, so I watched My Day! Initially I was like what is going on here…but as the series progressed i was hooked lol. I mean I still forwarded a lot of additional parts that were purely there to fill time and also promote stuff. But these two actors are quite remarkable considering these were their first roles. And their interactions as a couple were so natural and not at all scripted. Then comes the intimate scenes that I have to say I have never seen a BL with such natural intimacy. It’s always put on or tried too hard. But this was just shockingly natural. I was clearly impressed. It just added so much to their natural chemistry with each other. Anyway I just finished it now and I am thankful for the recommendation. Just for the two main leads, this is just so worth it.

Glad that you liked it. I totally agree with you, there are filler scenes and characters that doesn't need to be there, but yeah, the leads are gorgeously perfect together. And they have this natural chemistry going on, it's not forced, it's just naturally beautiful.

Too bad they fell out. I could swear they had a much deeper friendship going on to be that comfortable. Now Aki is out of that group and yesterday they had a live where Miko came on and they are doing a sequel without Aki. And they don’t even follow each other on Instagram. Really sad. These guys could have gone on to do gorgeous stuff together.

oh...i did not see that live, i missed it...but probably they still have unresolved problems.

It wasn't proven though, can't really judge someone based on allegations. Supposedly the incident happened on January but they've only filed a case on June when the father got on altercation with Tony's mother. Furthermore, he described Tony as a "good kid", you wouldn't really describe someone who harassed your children a good kid. So to me, it feels like they're just using their children to get back at each other. So unless there's hard evidence that proves of Tony's misconduct, I wouldn't jump on immediate conclusions of someone's character and spreading it to others as if it is a 'fact'.

Well guys, I checked the Thai forum, but nobody had mentioned it yet,
so I hope you guys don't mind if I share my thoughts on this tragic
event that happened yesterday, probably the way to look at this is that
the shocking crime also affected Philippine bl fans because the Thai
actor involved is also pretty popular among Philippine blfandom. For
those that are not aware here's the summary based on what I've
read and seen online:

1. It actually started in Twitter, photos leaked showing Thai actor Toy
Thanapat exiting an apartment with handcuffs on.
2. Since this is a criminal and ongoing investigation, and it was not
covered immediately by major newspapers in Bangkok, until earlier
this morning. What everyone knew last night is that Toy allegedly
stabbed his girlfriend 20 times.
3. This morning major dailies released more details. According to
these newspapers, Toy is the one who called the police, and when
the police arrived on the scene, Toy was very scared. He claimed
self defense, and the knife in question is in the apartment.
4. Basically until a formal investigation is finalized, any new details
relevant to the case will not be known.
5. My take on this is that, it's just sad and shocking. If the allegation
is true and Toy is guilty based on evidence and his testimony. The
girlfriend regardless of the situation deserves justice and peace.
6. Toy has an upcoming BL i think it's called the dentist or something,
his career is obviously over. And if he's found guilty the jail sentence
will provide justice to the victims family.
7. This also made me realize that at the end of the day, we have
to be responsible for the consequences of our own actions.

Does anyone have a cut of the sex scene in the Gameboys 2 Movie? Its so unfortunate that the international fans have such limited time and access to the movie meanwhile its otherwise for filipinos. I found it on a website and watched the movie but after that it got taken down. I can't find anymore websites that have it downloaded for free. Plus the screenings are over now.
