I don't think the regrets are about porn if there are any. A lot of these porn performers especially till the 2ks, were struggling with their sexuality and used porn as a way to have sex with men while using it as an excuse as just for the money. Then you add drugs, alcohol and poor support, depression becomes a thing and its consequences can be fatal.

How terribly sad
AVN should have programs regarding mental health, addiction and well being of all adult film actors. Seems like some of them end up being homeless, broke and dead. A very stoney end

I think doing porn always leaves consequences for actors in both gay and straight porn...
Psychologically, it is mainly difficult to forget and also to deal with society when they point out your past.
Most go in knowing the risk or don't care, some film a few videos and then leave. Some don't care and have support systems.
I have friends who did adult film work that are at peace with what they did and given how long ago they did work, there aren't fans hitting them up at all.
I get that's not the case with everyone though.
