I don’t like when people directly say that a dude abusing women means he’s probably a closeted queer. Just like I don’t like the idea that a man being overtly homophobic or anti-gay also must mean he’s a closeted queer. That perspective is too basic and often has an underlining of male homophobia. However, recent studies suggest at least one-third of dudes probably have queer dimensions. Yet, only about 4% of guys are overtly queer. So, the math ain’t mathing. Also, hetero pressures, masculine insecurities, gay panic, mental health struggles, fluidity, contradictions in your dimensions, not understanding the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, relationship, commitment- theses things can be the catalyst to some f-ed up behaviors. It’s just rarely basic as “he abuses women so he ‘gay”. And we all know most closeted or DL guys are not woman beaters.
