Daniil about LGBT on Tour

Kind of hard to feel safe and secure when they don't even have a penalty system in place to check homophobia... nothing happened to Fognini after Olympics. They've said there's an internal investigation into Rune's comments, but if they had a system in place- there wouldn't be a need for an investigation. We all know Emirates- the airline and country are homophobic, that's part of the problem. Good to see Medvedev come off as a decent human being- I wasn't sure.

New Yorkers will always root for the underdog especially if they are young.

But Alcaraz put on a show. He definitely has an ass for days too
I think Tsitsipas is gonna wear the label of bathroom break/cheater for awhile. Also the Dad always coaching and getting warning during this match really lost him crowd support.

I have also seen him a number of times be a racquet tapper at the net too. I think Stef might be victim to the classic helicopter parents syndrome. It sad to think that he is letting them hold him back by an overwhelming amount of pressure. Is Stefanos playing for himself at all? Or is he just wanting to play just to say that he is the best? Its hard to tell...

Helicopter and controlling parents are fairly standard in the world of tennis. But people aren’t really gonna sympathize with that. He comes off as confident, independent and cocky (or at least that’s how he tries to come off). He’s conventionally good-looking. He’s been a top player in the world for a few years now. He may be 23 but could pass for 32. He’s also a male. Even if he’s suffocated by his parents, folks are not gonna give him a break. He does need to remove his father as his coach. It’s kinda embarrassing at this point.

I agree with this to an extent. This dude knows what he is doing. You can tell by his comments in addressing the "bathroom break." He's pointing his finger at the fact that there is no timer on these breaks, which is going to change really soon. Then today he tried pointing at other players because he got a couple violations and was booed for it. Except he named no players.

That really wasn’t what I was trying to go for in that post.

I’ve made it clear that I don’t find Tsitsipas particularly likable. He is shady, arrogant and pretentious. I definitely get why folks are coming at him. I just don’t know how much of his antics and pretention is driven by his own personality and youth and how much may be driven by his father (and perhaps some queer insecurities, who knows?). I don’t at all feel bad for him. But I also don’t think he’s doing anything that a ton of other players as well indulge. He’s just making it more obvious.

surprising for a Russian to say.
I've actually been surprised by Medvedev quite a bit. Yeah he can be a bit of a shit disturber sometimes (look at US Open 2019 lol) but I still found likability in him, and he seems like a nice enough guy off the court. I rarely ever see him hanging out with the other Russians like Khachanov and Rublev

Where I feel sorry for Tsitsi is he's not a cheat because he is not being any rules.
He's also bring unfairly singled out - mainly because that sanctimonious prick Murray made an issue of it. I've seen plenty of other players take a long time, one of the women caused a 10-minute delay last week. It is a problem though and should be addressed by the sport asap.

King!

I'm kind of glad he lost if only for the fact that they can finally stop replaying this bathroom break storyline ad nauseam. We get it already. Just change the rule and move on. I'm tired of hearing about it
