Pro tennis players

Sadly Thiem lost again. Hard to see where he goes from here, or how long he'll keep playing as a fringe top 100 player. Even a top 40 standard looks very difficult to achieve.
I watched that match. I don't see how he lost to that guy. Every point he was looking in his box for affirmation. His coach is a former player whose name escapes me at the moment.

Thiem's coach? Ben Ibrahim (something else at the end of his name I can't remember, forgive me). He used to work with Kerber and I remember him working at Serena's coach's academy.

I think Thiem plays rather tepidly, like he's scared to go for his shots. Unfortunately his shots don't have the same pop as they had a couple years ago so he either needs more physical therapy or a coach that notices this.

yeah after the wrist injury he either can't or won't hit it how he used to and his game has taken a dive as a result. It's a shame as he had a good match against Tsitsipas at Wimbledon but ultimately I don't think it's out of the realms of possibility that he quits to become an Austrian TV host/celebrity etc...

He had to completely change the forehand technique after the wrist surgery. So from having one of the top 5 forehands on the tour it's now barely a top 100 level shot (if that).

Still I thought he might have turned a corner with the Tsitsipas match so disappointing to see him still losing badly.
