Unfortunately grigor is so weak mentally I never had any faith in him winning that match today. That said I find Fokina hot so I was happy either way

It doesn't matter the reason for the MTO. It's in the rules, it's allowed, and it's happening more and more frequently nowadays.
All players are aware of it, and if their opponent getting their legs rubbed for 5 minutes results in them losing their focus so badly they can't close out a match, they only have themselves to blame.
Yeah Grigor is mentally weak. But like what I said, end does not justify the means. Legal or not, I will never respect anyone who uses that tactic. He is in the same class as the joke and his next opponent. And we know how majority of tennis fans receive those people.
He seems pretty popular on social media. Not too many people whining about the MTO.
PLUS, I imagine a Masters 1000 trophy & prize money is preferable to a few more fans cheering for him! Lol
Yeah. For now. If he carries on doing this, I don’t know. He isn’t even a Djokovic nor a Tsitsipas yet. Hope he doesn’t become popular for the wrong reasons. Yeah. Trophies matter more right? Sucks to be a Djokovic who is the ‘GOAT’ but isn’t respected universally because of his antics.

There are still people who invest in Grigor as a player? I thought everyone knew to just see him as eye candy by now. His game is built on flash rather than repeatable patterns. Therefore, he’s streaky as hell. He mostly falters in tight matches. He has just one win a piece over Novak-Nadal-Federer. The top of men’s tennis has more depth than it did 4-5 years ego. And even in the couple of seasons he had a lot of success it’s mostly been vulturing.

Fair enough, but i would argue that tennis is still better of for having Grigor around. Popularity amongst many fans and players, highlight reel shotmaking, stylish playstyle, work ethic, fashion... choices lets say... He lacks a few things that the big champions have for sure, who doesnt, but still brings alot of great things to the tennis arena.
There’s a lot of players whose consistency would assist the sport. But it’s been obvious for a while now that that isn’t gonna be Grigor.
Still extremely handsome and fun to watch when his game is on! A semi-final in Monte-Carlo is a very decent result (we all would have taken more but still).
