I have wondered that myself. Based on the little snips we hear, he doesn't pay a whole lot (nowhere near what he must have been clearing on rentals in the site's heyday) and it's not really clear that he's well-known as some kind of prodigy photographer like a Bruce Weber or someone. You would think these guys would have their pick of better-known artists wanting to work with them, who also didn't push their boundaries as he does. Again it makes me wonder if the discussions of pay and discomfort are not staged to give the content some taboo, when in fact they got considerably more. Roger in particular is a beautiful-looking guy with a great body, who expressed verbal disgust at having his oil checked, but yet went back what? 18 times?

Sounds like he just went to all the bodybuilding shows and recruited guys before they got popular and before they knew any better. Was likey much easier for him when his stuff was pretty low-key, you even hear him say in some videos that it's only sold on dvd won't be put on the internet. So guys were more willing to get nude. Plus there wouldn't be a lot on the net about what really went on in the videos. Which is why his popularity likely is what killed his recruitment. Guys knew what he was really after and that he was putting it on line not just dvd.

Peter took forever to push models' limits, seemingly getting them comfortable with where his hands were going. There was a sensuality about it that contrasted markedly by the often crude conversations (I'm guessing, as has been suggested, because it helped relax the guy to get him talking about himself and assert his masculinity in another way).

By contrast the Maverick guy says almost nothing and his touch is cursory and almost clinical. He goes from zero to fingering a guy's hole in a blink of an eye (but oddly the models' reactions are mostly muted, suggesting this is not new territory for them). I would enjoy having it drawn out more and enjoying the illusion that the model is being gradually seduced to allow the cameraman to cross more lines.
