Richard Madden (Robb Stark in GOT)

I don’t see them casting someone who’s been in a somewhat low-key gay relationship for several years, not for that franchise. People keep trying to make James Bond more “queer” or wanting a female James Bond or wanting a black James Bond. That franchise appeals to an older demographic and it depends a lot on foreign markets. I don’t see them casting a queer actor who has gay relationships unless they were deep, deep in the closet.
Richard has publicly dated women, and I don’t think there would be as much an issue with him being low key with a man as he has been. Being bi is less provoking and than being gay for the conservative audience. I hope they keep Bond just as he has been, we don’t need a gay 007 to stir up more unnecessary drama in the media.

Maybe a new spy series
Girth, Richard Girth. Agent 0069 (distant Grindr alerts)

It’s not about being “gay” or “bi” or whatever identities. A decent percentage of the older and Conservative audience and certain foreign countries are not gonna like that their James Bond has been in a gay relationship for years. And believe me, if he gets cast as James Bond that would become a much more major talking point on social media than it has been. And it already seems that the top-teir offers have slowed down a bit for him, and some it might be due to him seemingly being in years long gay relationships these past five years. It’s perfectly fine if you’re a “hunk” who’s queer-adjacent or bi-ish. Embracing a “gay” identity or seeming to have legit gay preferences and long-term commitments is another thing when it comes to a typical Hollywood Hunk’s career potential.

There’s nuance to image and bias just as there’s nuance to sexuality, identity, preferences and the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum. Suggesting you might be bi-ish or queer adjacent has little affect on the career prospects of “Hollywood hunks” nowadays. Fully embracing a public “gay” (or, yes, even “bi”) identity or seeming to be in legit gay relationships for years is another thing else entirely. It doesn’t matter that he’s not officially publicly out or that it seems that he’s had relationships with chicks in the past or that he hasn’t embraced a “gay” identity publicly. James Bond is an old school franchise with old school appeal that will depend on foreign markets. Madden is not gonna be cast as James Bond, and perhaps the biggest reason is because it seems that he’s spent the last five years in gay relationships. While if they wanted to “change it up” and cast someone unapologetically queer, Madden still wouldn’t fit the bill.

Realistically how many normies know about this relationship? I thought only Froy's most ardent fangirls and terminally online queers like us figured out the coupling at all? Lol.

Afaik Madden is considered straight to the average audience goer. I wasn't aware of any of his relationships until I came to lpsg tbh.

Even major tabloids don’t know about it, I keep seeing “what actress is Richard Madden dating now?” Just to see them speculate about a female costar. But if he became James Bond you know it would come out

Magazines have sort of hinted around it to the point of it attaining a low level of mainstream awareness, but I'd say most people mainly know him as that guy from Game of Thrones or Bodyguard and blindly assume he's heterosexual since those characters were without actually knowing of anyone he's been linked to.

That and being Prince Charming from Cinderella. All the wishful talking of him dating Lily James

Daniel Craig had a CBT scene with Mad where he screamed "yes yes!" while getting his nuts whacked and told Javier that it "wasn't his first time" when Javier tried to make him uncomfortable by molesting his legs.

I don't think Richard having irl same sex relationships would matter in the way people are presuming.

The industry knows, many people on social media knows, and the media also clearly knows as every once and while someone will drop an “article” talking about Richard’s “male friend” or lack of a recent girlfriend. It’s no longer prudent for the media to overtly talk about the queerness or gay relationships of people who aren’t clearly publicly out, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t shady, beating around the bush write-ups. The tabloids are definitely aware. It’s not really a well kept secret.

When it comes to casting, you have to think about the target demo’s and the money at stake. James Bond is not some edgy and “progressive” franchise. While Hollywood has yet to show that they’re willing to cast a male in the leading role of a big budget/global brand movie who is openly “gay” or “bi” or suspected of having legit gay commitments. Execs would be worried about it becoming a bigger story if they cast him in such an iconic role. (And once again, him being in a several year long gay relationship would become bigger and more widely discussed news). They’d be worried about older audiences and certain countries being turned off. Richard can still get big gigs in his career. But the James Bond thing is highly unlikely. I also don’t think Richard has honestly paid his dues. They’d want to hire someone who’s at least been in a couple of hit movies and maybe at least one big movie franchise.

A lot of y’all don’t seem to get how deep hetero expectations, hetero superiority, homo inferiority, male homophobia still are in the industry. It especially comes into play when we’re talking about leading roles and big budget films and men who have “hunk status”. Just because some out guys are getting work doesn’t mean the bias isn’t there, even for dudes who are not unapologetically out and proudly in gay relationships. Being queer-ish or people suspecting you might be “queer” or being a bit fem is very different than being “gay” or “bi” presenting or many suspecting that you have legit gay preferences/commitments.

Probably gonna sound like a weirdo for saying this but I looked at that account to see if there were any more "deets" beyond that and the tweet right before this one was her freaking out over the earthquake that happened that day so I'm assuming he and Froy are back in L.A. as opposed to the usual places (London and Dallas) that they're normally known to be.

Feel strange and kinda gross for even looking that up but I was curious since they're so good at hiding where they are.
