Lmaooo! Ok so this is definitely not the right forums for this type of discussion but since you brought it up and since I am a total fantasy nerd... Every piece of fantasy ever written has been grounded in real world mythology and typically adheres to a specific time period. In that sense, every fantasy show is basically a period drama with magic. In the case of The Witcher that period is early Medieval Central Europe. Bro has a full on mohawk, something that Europeans won't encounter for hundreds of years until they get to North America. And what's more important he's the only other elf with that kind of hair on the show so it sticks out like a sore thumb and interferes with the whole "suspension of disbelief" which is the number one thing you can't do in fantasy writing. The hair was almost as annoying and distracting as his weird ass accent forcibly deep voice. It basically just detracted from the story (which was already bad enough as it is) for no reason whatsoever.

I am loving this. Come here for muscle tits and floppy dicks, but will throw down over random fandom inaccuracies and detail. Though I will admit I know zilch of Witcher.

I will say this, just being inspired by something doesn't mean a new universe will make a 1-to-1 adaptation. However, I will criticize ruthlessly if it fails to adhere to its actual source material. Well...unless the adaptation is just better. Jaws, Jurassic Park, Game of Thrones.

At the same time, the showrunner doesn’t respect the source material at all and warps the story acts to push her own vision which alienates the diehard fans. It’s kind of a mess.
