PSguy, I understand he was at The Tool Shed (a local bar) this weekend.
Tool Shed?? I want to believe Toucans or maybe Hunters, Tool Shed. I want pictures!
This is somewhat off-topic, but at the very beginning of my sophomore year in college, there was a rumor going around that one of the new freshman on campus had played Knox Overstreet in Dead Poet's Society. I was sitting in the lounge in my dorm talking to a friend about it, when the guy in question walked in. He sure as hell looked like Knox Overstreet to me. He was with two girls--who were all over him--and the three of them sat on the sofa opposite us. As it turns out he lived in the suite diagonally across from mine. So as he sat there being fondled by his groupies, we asked if was indeed the actor who played Knox, and he said that he was. I believed him and so did my friend, so as the rumor continued to surface, we confirmed it.
At some point I got suspicious, so I found a book in reference section of the library that listed films and their directors, cast, etc., and found that his name was
not listed in the credits. (Keep in mind that this was back in 1990, a few years before the Internet and sites like imdb.com existed.) From that point on I tried to dispell the rumor, but by that point it was much too late. I don't think it ever fully went away, and he wasn't above taking advantage of it, but I think his friends and dorm-mates eventually realized the truth.
The point is, perhaps this sighting of Mr. Gosling at The Tool Shed (and other similar sightings of celebrities at gay bars) was a case of mistaken identity, perhaps even one deliberately encouraged by his doppelganger. (Mind you, I hope it
was him!)
