It's probably going to be another stage and TV actor, most likely from the UK or Australia. Definitely won't be an Antonio Banderas level actor, it's a TV show, its not in the budget.

Bryan Fuller (the gay writer who made the Hannibal show) was supposed to develop an adaptation with Anne for Hulu but it got scrapped. I'm really enjoying this adaptation though, I think the changes work so well.

I remember reading about that. Anne Rice was also very adamant about not casting a teenager for Armand because she's afraid they would age out the role if it was for a season premier or what. Funny enough, Armand's looks were based on Bjorn Andresen from Death In Venice. Interestingly, her main choice for Lestat was the late Rutger Hauer, but he was already too old by the 90s. By the 70s and 80s, maybe. When the 90s-00s began, nope. She talks about it in interviews and biographies.
