SC removed almost their entire pre-2015 catalog one random night in early December 2020.Did they announce it or simply they have done it without notifying its subscribers?
This was right as a HUGE controversy swirled in the US about porn. It was started by an editorial by Nicholas Kristof in the NY Times, which got all the moral scolds chattering. Soon, all the credit card companies were threatening to stop dealing with porn sites.
Mindgeek (which owns SC) got into a ferocious battle with Visa and Mastercard.

Suddenly, one night, they pulled thousands of videos from the SC site.
Soon after, they said it was just site maintenance, or something similar, and that the videos would return. This clearly wasn't true, but was said to stop subscribers from complaining so much.
Eventually, the world moved on, and the videos never reappeared, of course.
