This thread is great! I grew up pre-Sean Cody but the site was my "go to" once I found it. At it's peak I don't think anything came close to it. I have a few questions I thought somebody could answer:
I gather from the interviews in the solo scenes that Sean Cody was based in San Diego. Clearly many of the models were not local. How were they recruited? Through advertising, a talent agency, etc... In the interviews the models sometimes reference driving or flights and hotels. Did Sean Cody pay for the models to travel to San Diego? I'm assuming it took several days to complete the filming, thus the need for a hotel. And my last question, where were the scenes filmed? The backgrounds don't always look like a home/house, more like a studio. And the bathroom with the large shower and corner tub looks a lot like what appears in some Active Duty (another great site when it was at it's best) scenes.
I have no real reason for asking and perhaps these questions are answered elsewhere but I'm curious.

I believe when he first started a lot of the models were local. In fact, a lot of the tops he used for the first time bottoming scenes were local. I think Wade was recruited from being a bartender. He topped Dylan and Patrick - 2 iconic early “straight models.
I think the studio really blew up 2004/2005. And the rest is history (not including when MindGeek bought it). For me, the height of SC was between 2005-2010. He was pumping out real amateur men. And the getaways he did were legendary.

Registration is free, but it's not really worth it anymore. They used to offer their links for free, but now in order to download their links you need a seperate subscription to them ontop of the download providers they use. With what they charge you're better off buying a regular sub to the site you want.Hi all,

Like a comment says above, it started out as a local endeavor but by 2009ish they were recruiting nationally. I believe he had friends across the country who would “scout” for the site. Kurt was discovered in a grocery store for example. They also used other models to refer friends and strangers. Jess discovered Ethan at a nude beach for example. Also clear they loved to pull from the PNW. Lots of the golden age stars are from the Seattle/Tacoma or Portland area.
To answer your other questions, the flyout was probably their biggest selling point. They’d fly guys out, put them up in 5 star hotels, treated them to very fancy dinners and filmed everything in a mansion in an affluent San Diego neighborhood. They also paid top of the market rates.
Who’s from the sea ttle/ Tacoma area ? I thought it’s mostly college boys and SoCal due their tan and physique..

Although I seem to recall reading an interview with Ethan some years ago, who said the story about being discovered by Jess wasn't true. Ethan sent his pictures to SC and the rest was history.
