I was told the "maintenance" was going to take a couple of weeks. That was last year. The current year is almost a third over and still nada. Or should I say I think a few of the missing scenes resurfaced while potentially thousands remain off.
Did you happen to notice any Men scenes reappearing or was this just something you read?
Perhaps you got a "good deal" in a sense, but considering their prices are high, it's extra to download (if you can) and much of their library has been removed, I'd say it's still a rip-off.
Maybe stuff will come back. I'm not holding my breath however.

I agree. And without those scenes, Sean Cody’s price isn’t worth it. Recruiting great talent with actual camera presence is hard and the original owner was very good at identifying straight guys, gay guys, and everything in between who were curious and could be convinced to be shameless.
Maybe the MG owners are straight so don’t know what and who is hot to men who like gay sex or don’t know how to recruit the right talent. Regardless, their cinematography is crap, the models are forgetful, and none of the new scenes stand out because the direction is so clueless as to male-on-male sex.
It is a damned shame when you pay more attention to lighting issues and bad filming angles while watching porn, but I swear if you pull up an old scene with Brandon, Landon, Brannon, and any number of guys (especially those older videos from way back), and compared it to the new ones, there is no comparison.
Having Sean Cody models end up on Men never works well. Brandon tried it and I think only filmed three or so scenes. He couldn’t compete with actual gay pornstars and probably needed a good director, anyway. If there isn’t enough memorable talent, Sean Cody should start using old pairings - not like we have to see new duos all the time.
I have a site content tracker on the SC's model page and scene page and I just got a notification today that number of total videos increased from 768 to 790 and the number of models increased from 295 to 300. Hopefully this means they really are restoring some of the old videos.

Logged on earlier and noticed a number of scenes from 2015 have reappeared
I read the comment about the Men scenes on another forum, hadn't noticed myself. It's costing me £6 a month for both sites, and I have been a member for long enough that I don't pay for downloads separately. I think that was one of the reasons that got me to renew.
If I seem cynical about the explanation that these older files will be restored, it is because Sean Cody has been doing this for years. I think we can excuse the original owner from deleting videos he appeared in (I think he was embarrassed and/or in a relationship when he sold it), but older videos have been deleted before.
I remember that there were two "classic" Dean videos: his initial solo and a follow-up where he was being photographed on a stool while j/o-ing. Only the solo was on the site as of two or three years ago - the other one was deleted.
There could also be a mundane reason. Models in these videos have to sign release forms indicating how long the video can be posted. It is possible that some videos had some limitation on them, like 15-20 years, that required reaching out to models again for permission and the new owners just can't find everyone. It could also be the case that the older videos were lost when a systems issue hit them or need to be restored by a computer expert which can be costly (and MindGeek, the new owner, doesn't really care about quality so they probably just figured no one would notice). Who knows? Just saying that I noticed older videos kind of "vanishing" for a while but the original owner at least gave an explanation for intentional deletions while MindGeek has been silent.
Anyway, back to the purposes of this site, that Dean solo for your viewing pleasure.
