My theory is that not being out as a couple gives them a lot more privacy. Even gossipy tabloids tend to be pretty careful about anything close to outing someone as lgbt. (See also: Froy and Richard Madden.) Living in the glass closet is a decent way to avoid unwanted attention, while also having pretty minimal effect on their relationship.

Surprised I don't see anyone talking about this, but Sebastian posted an instagram story heavily implying that he was wishing happy birthday to his girlfriend. It featured a photo of him with a blond girl and the caption "how old is the world?" then a video of him walking with her with the caption "mine is 23." She could just be a friend or relative, but it seemed pretty girlfriend-y to me.
Good for him, but given how much shipping has been done of him and Joe and given how Kit has received so many queerbaiting accusations, you'd think that Sebastian would have gotten some attention for this. Curious as to others' thoughts.

Its obvious it's his friend. He's gay and been with joe since either filming of season 1 or a little after that's obvious. Can't stand when people act oblivious to what's obvious. He called her like a sister in his insta stories post he reposted.
Sebastian is gay (or bi!) as hell and clearly devoted to Locke. The Zs do all sorts of terms of endearment for their platonic friends. That said, Nima is right about how terribly Kit has been treated for possibly dating a woman while also possibly being not str8.

Yeah, you could be right! I didn't mean to make any assumptions, it simply struck me that they looked couple-y.
Obviously it'd be cute af if he were in fact with Joe, and there's certainly a lot of evidence suggestion those two are more than friends. But ultimately we get a very distorted view of things through public social media posts, and never a clear picture of someone's personal life. I could see things appearing a certain way and not really being like that in private; it probably happens more often than we realize.

Assuming Sebastian is definitely gay… Ive never thought he was dating Joe maybe I’m just biased cause I don’t think Joe is very attractive but who’s to say what Sebastian’s taste are. But on a superficial level to me Bash looks like he would not date Joe. Joe just has one of those oddly shaped heads that are somewhat more common among british boy’s like a phenotype or something.
I really don't think there's any doubt left that they're dating - they're together all the time, have been pictured holding hands, Sebastian sang a love song about someone's "coffee lips" (when Kit has repeatedly complained about Joe's coffee breath and Sebastian has called him "coffee boy"), Joe was Sebastian's plus-one at his sister's wedding...
They are very obviously dating. People thinking Joe is "too ugly" for him can suffer.
What is wrong with you. They're obviously dating and how rude and mean are you to essentially call him ugly. Disgusting people like you are literally like the bullies in the show and nobody needs your just plain mean comments. And even if he was which he isn't the fact that all you look for in a partner is how hot they are i feel really sad for you and hope you don't bully and say disgusting things to actual people in your life.
