Honestly I see any relationship between two celebrities as a PR stunt to some extent, no matter how long they’ve been together. See also Tom and Zendaya.

Exactly. There’s room for both to co-exist… not denouncing the “legitimacy” of their relationship, just calling out that they both have projects coming up to promote, so expect the kind of public displays the last time around when Seniorita was hot and they both had albums coming. Also, if you don’t see a PR element to their romantic getaway photos when clearly there’s someone else there taking the flirty pictures of them then I don’t know what else to say. When you go on a date or vacation, do you take your photographer along too?
I've blown two loads already over that sole pic.

There’s something about them that is so cringey. It seems as though they are like “okay, this is what couples do.” Even if they are truly dating, I can’t help but think they push a photog moment right before one of them are about to release something. All of their photos look very unnatural and I’m not the only one to think that.

Sure! Artists like (Sir) Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Ricky Martin, George Michael, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Frank Ocean, Jason Mraz, to name a few are/were really struggling careerwise indeed....
Come on, he has ALL the room and opportinity to come out if he isn't straight whenever he is ready.
Career is absolutely no restricting factor anymore. He already has the fame and the fans.
Whether this is true or not doesn't change the reality of the stigma. Also do you understand how demographics work? You jusg listed a bunch of I assume queer artists with totally different audiences than what Shawn has (which is mainly young women) and that of course changes the circumstances.

Fair point, but don't underestimate the dedication of (young) fangirls. They really don't just turn their back on him for coming out. This generation is a lot more open and accepting as they were let's say 30 years ago.
Sure, some will not accept it and will leave. Question is if that's the kind of people you want as an lgbt-artist, unless you only care about money/sales. And on the other end, others will find him more interesting and he will gain fans from other demographics as well. I think all in all it will balance itself out a bit. The most important benefit/factor of it would be that he could be and accept himself and be honest.
And you also need to realize the scale of his fame. Even if half of his fandom completely left suddenly, he would still sell out venues and sell albums/merch.
There's no way he would become financially instable or worse by coming out.
