Fucking better not… I know that’s the stereotype, but IF he ever did come out I would LOVE to see him embraced whole heart by the queer community… at least as much love as Harry gets at his concerts (and he’s not even confirmed bi/queer).

Some of his earlier songs were really good. It was not required for him to show his body and I don't think an 18 year old is worldly-wise enough to take that call by himself.
And simply having money doesn't in anyway solve any problems. Sure you have food to eat and a comfortable house to live but if you're surrounded by money-hungry assholes who are constantly trying to pimp you out (whether that's photoshoots or song videos) I'm not sure that's a super healthy environment to grow up in.

Money doesn’t automatically solve your problems, but it gives you a cushion and a lot of resources to help solve them that most people don’t have.

The only way our "community" will accept Shawn Mendes for being straight is if multiple sex tapes in HD 1080 quality are released of him having and enjoying sex with only cis-gender women. And even then, the Internet Inquisitors will only shift from bullying him to come out as gay to bullying him to come out as bi or pan. Sadly, Mr. Mendes has been accused of witchcraft in the modernized version of 17th century Salem. The only way for him to prove that he isn't what the villagers believe he is, is for him to drown instead of float after they toss him in the river. In other words, he's fucked no matter how the situation ends.
It absolutely boggles my mind the way you can turn the most privileged people into victims and martyrs because you disagree with what some people said about them on the internet. Gonna say it again: Shawn is fine. He literally just told us all that he was ok. No need to brandish your sword to defend him from the imaginary mob.
