Spencer getting spanked was funny just only when he would accidently let out a moan and people would go nuts. Other than that the live shows aren't "great" worst part of this one honestly was Courtney and Olivia hosting it. They aren't the best people to put in charge of an event. But I want the next one to just be a Damien and Shayne show type event.

I agree, I bought a ticket because I haven’t seen the previous live shows and the people on reddit (my mistake) were saying that it was so worth it. I thought it was kinda expensive but maybe I was missing something… I wasn’t. The live show is the same formula as regular smosh but just like 4 videos put together, it could have been pre recorded and I would have no idea. I enjoyed some of the improvised songs but at that point I don’t think it was worth my money.

I feel like smosh right now is in this weird state of incorporating adult humor while still trying to cater to a family friendly audience, which ends up just being half entertaining. Maybe that’s why I like Angela in the cast because she goes all out not caring about the rating with some of her comments and makes it feel more genuine. Tbh I wouldn’t still be watching if I wasn’t a simp for Shayne and daddy Ian, and for the cope that 1 out of 20 jokes is actually funny.

You really hit the nail on the head. I watched a few videos this morning... They were so incredibly unfunny but it's also like they knew it? it was the "stand-up" Jackbox game from last week, and Courtney & Tommy's TNTL trivial pursuit. they were actively calling out how unfunny eachother was in the Jackbox game, but they just kinda... kept going. It was a really weird vibe. Courtney and Tommy are tenuously funny at best and usually very dry, so they didn't have nearly as much charisma and chemistry as Shayne and Damien's video doing the same. Courtney and Tommy even had spans of minutes where neither could make the other laugh. Plus all the comments on the other video asking for more like it definitely meant more with Shayne & Damien and not more of that particular format... lol

They have a lot of really strong comedians and entertainers right now, but they're trying to force them so hard into the old, tired Smosh formats and maintain that 2010's youtube wholesome vibe. It's not going as well as it could and it's really starting to feel like a money pit.

I really hated the Courtney and Tommy TNTL video. They just weren't funny and there were moments when they would say something and someone would "almost" laugh and I just went "Really? That was funny?" Theyway they were trying to get each other to laugh was more based on noises and uses their vocals instead of a funny answer. Its difficult because I want to dislike the video but at the same time say "Hey this is a fun concept just not with these two."

Honestly the new cast acts way more like friends than the squad ever did. But I feel like I'm only around for Shayne, Ian, Damien, Spencer, and the new cast members. Anyone else I just really couldn't care about.

omg yes. Also the new cast is leagues more talented than almost any of the old members ever were. It really makes you wonder why they hired someone like Olivia. I'm sure she's lovely as a person, but my god, she is just not the slightest bit entertaining, much less funny.

Olivia is MUCH better at scripted content, then unscripted. She's now just part time, which is better, since she can pursue further acting roles.

One of the problems I have with Courtney/Olivia/Keith is their inability to be dedicated to their jokes. Some of the most unfunny moments is them doing a joke and then 5 seconds later losing their nerve. Shayne and Damien seem to be amazing with just sticking to the bit (Shayne makes it better when he breaks because of his bit).

I can't stand Angela or the Indian girl. More Jackie and Spencer.

Angela is kind of annoying now. I really liked her in the beginning but now her obnoxiousness seems too purposely done like she's trying to one-up herself each time. I like Arasha though. Her lying bit is funny and the expressions she gets everyone else to make is funny too lol. I mostly watch for Shayne, Ian, Damien and Jackie.

Angela was great when she was first guesting, I think she is best in small doses, especially now that they are really leaning into the whole "lol look how random and loud she is, like a feral guinea pig"
