Show your fellow LPSG's your hometown!

The boot shop used silicone! LOL! When they told me, I said, yeah a buddy told me about that! He said "Smart buddy."

Thanks! And the boots look great. They went through rehab looking better than ever. So happy. I love them boots!

I'd never place you on a bum steer Lil' Lady :)

(In the best John Wayne interpretation I can muster )

It's been such a glorious first day of winter (1st June, 2016) here in my home city of Perth, Western Australia, I thought I'd post some pics I took earlier today in Kings Park that overlooks the CBD and the Swan River . . .

I swim in the ocean from September to May most years and if you're going to be worried about Great Whites, then wouldn't put your toe in the water. . . But, yeah, they're out there! I've had one swim under me . . . While I'm a half-Queenslander, I think we're bred tougher here in the West!

... tropical cyclones can affect both the western and eastern coast of australia, isn't it?...
I wonder what is their general direction... from the east to the west?...
if so... most of the western tropical cyclones would go far from land... further in the indian ocean... while eastern ones would come from the pacific ocean and interest more often the coast... is it the case?...
........................
ozwestcoastboy, your pics are wonderful... the sky is just superb... it is so clear... its beauty touches me... such a sky is extremely rare in my island... because the trade winds bring continuous moisture and cloudiness every day... and this overall moisture even increases more near the northern moutains of the island because of lifting effect that create almost endless clouds with plenty of rain...
.........................
is there trade winds too along the eastern coast of australia?...
thank you both ozwestcoastboy and vibrationzz...
I wish you to have a good winter season... while tropical cyclone season begins today in the atlantic ocean...
thanks...

This is not of my home town, about 1,300 kilometres away. My love and I were on our way to Thredbo (ski resort place), just outside of our Aussie capital city Canberra would be 5 years ago now. We passed this old fire place in the middle of a paddock with high voltage power lines in the background.

STOooooP I said...Why she said? I just see stuff that shows changing through the generations....in this case generation to keep warm :) It was taken on an old mobile phone, but to me, this old fireplace in the middle of nowhere, built 200 or so years ago to keep a family warm, and those electricity cables of modern times in the background which keep modern families warm said much in a snap.

The old home is long gone....but the thought people once huddled there for warmth in the early history of Aus still gives a warmth and connection :)

Hi there Alcor927

Apologies but I missed seeing your post . . .Yes cyclones affect both the east and west coasts of Oz. On the west coast they come from the north-west, usually forming in the southern equatorial region of the Indian Ocean . . . They generally cross the coast north of the Tropic of Capricorn in our remote mining regions. On the east coast they mainly come from the north-east, usually forming out in the Coral Sea or beyond.

I'm pleased you like the quality of the sky here in Perth. Being so isolated and pretty much pollution free, and having a Mediterranean climate, we are blessed with near perfect weather most of the time, with a short wet winter and a long dry summer.

Trust your summer cyclone season has been mild thus far . . . Our winter has be a touch wetter and colder than usual . . .

Cheers!
