What is PBJ?
PBJ refers to the current trend of "electronic boyfriends," which targets "straight male" audiences and is created by "female content creators."

Content includes:
It features activities such as modeling clothes, sharing daily life, eating, bathing, flying drones, engaging in self-pleasure (sometimes while simultaneously speaking passionately—talk about performance talent!), introducing themselves, telling explicit personal stories, using rough language, dirty talk, and more.

This series is about experiencing what it's like to have a highly attractive male friend from the perspective of the viewer.


If you watch it on Chrome, you can enable auto captions, which can also translate the dialogue. It often seems like the performers are speaking to a girl— (kowtowing) apologizing for making her angry, thanking her for her guidance, or expressing a desire to make her happy. It’s unclear whether the performers are pretending the viewer is a girl or if they genuinely believe they’re interacting with an online girlfriend. Either way, it’s strange that a straight guy would go to such lengths for a girl on the internet.
