A lot has to do with the official narrative. Until recently, briefs were being depicted as lame. Most clothing brands successfully convinced women that boxer-briefs are more attractive. At the same time, men were being told that revealing too much skin is not manly.

Fortunately, it's all starting to change again. More and more brands are introducing briefs in their regular offer. Even chain brands like H&M or Zara are now selling speedo-style swimming briefs and low-rise briefs.

Italians are proud of their package. Especially men from the southern regions, hence why there never stopped wearing speedos to the beach. Germans used to be very much into wearing briefs too, same as the French. You can clearly see it in retro videos.

Eastern Europeans used to be big on wearing briefs as well, but unfortunately, due to americanization and the above-mentioned narrative, now a majority of guys wear CK boxer-briefs. However, it is also a matter of time for it to change again.

Indian men and Asian wear briefs most of the time. They were not influenced by the Western anti-briefs campaign at all. With Latinamerican men it is the same - bulge is a symbol of masculinity, so why hide it? Real men show their package!
