The Thread for Discussion about Models & Celebrities Sexuality

Back to the topic of handsome Kit Connor. My gaydar may not be perfect, but I just don't see him as gay or even bisexual, mostly a straight guy who's comfortable as an actor. I feel he just said he was bi because that's an easy way out and because he would chastised for playing the role of a gay guy.

John Locke and Croft look totally gay to me.

How do you see someone as bisexual or not? Being bisexual doesn't have a ping for some ridiculous "gaydar". Speaking as a bisexual myself who's know plenty of closeted bisexuals. They are usually not very queer presenting.

I don't appreciate the implication that Kit just lied just to "get some heat off him". Gross.

I would even argue that majority of bi guys are more masculine than str8 men.

What would have happened if he had said he was just a straight ally? The backlash and harrasment would have continued. But by saying he's bisexual, then suddenly it stopped. This was the only way out.
Just say "it's hotter for me to jerk off thinking of him as a withholding straight guy who would never touch us" and leave.

I think the biggest known contributor to this "backlash" from Lpsg is the Kit Connor situation. Prior to that. The usual (and imho annoying) discussions and gossip was a bit more tolerated.

But you can see why because of stuff like that, the mods rather be safe than sorry I guess.
As someone who has worked with the age demographic that Kit is in, I get it. "The youth" now don't label stuff nearly as much. They identify as gay, straight, bi, or whatever but it's really just vibes. I have straight friends who will hook up with dudes if the vibe is right. I think with Kit, it comes from the stigma we still see in the entertainment industry.

Like, sure, we have our gay icons on TV and in movies but nobody as young as Kit and Joe Locke. For the "world" to delve deep into their lives like that, it feels violating.

Thank you for this thread.

I personally don’t get why some people get so upset when someone says “X celebrity is/must be gay”. It’s a non issue. It’s known celebrities hide their sexuality since ancient times and it’s perfectly normal to discuss it.
Except that a lot of people on this site think that every celebrity they're attracted to is gay. It's usually not based on anything other than wishful thinking.

My stance is this it should not really matter re commenting on a individual sexuality of not, as long as it respectful and not malicious of vindictive. This is called discussion. Having this speculation curtail is uncomfortable for me to be honest. To many actors /media individuals over the years and more so recently will not admit to being gay as it is seen as being a negative, so they will stay in the closet of state that they are Bisexual instead, as identifying as being gay men and women in this increasingly hostile conservative era, is considered /seen as a negative.

I must say that it very sad and to be frank disappointing for me an older gay man to see, what I call 'policing' of open transparent discussion. Just my opinion and lots will disagree I am sure.
It doesn't matter if a celebrity discloses their sexuality or not. You're not entitled to know anyone's sexuality or anything about their personal business. The speculation on this site is usually not based on anything other than wishful thinking because y'all think they're hot. Y'all really need to stop with these obsessive parasocial relationships with celebrities because at the end of the day, you don't know these people. You will most likely never meet them, let alone date or have sex with them, so their sexuality is none of your business. Just admire their talent and looks, and move on with your day.

And? Let’s not get triggered over other people’s “wishful thinking”. Why is it even a problem to you? Don’t tell me you get offended everytime someone says Shawn Mendes is gay. Is he your friend? your cousin? Pick a struggle.

Sorry but talking about someone's sexuality without their consent or assume someone's gay without their self-confession is disrespectful and malicious. There's no way around that. And you cannot make excuse and call it an open discussion especially if someone's reputation or privacy is at stake. There's no question to that.

Want to respectfully note here that there is no such thing as an "allegation" about sexual orientation. An allegation is an accusation of wrongdoing and there is nothing wrong about being gay or bi, so you can't alledge that someone is gay or bi.
It's also allegation if you're assuming or calling someone is like this or that without them self-admitting something. And don't give me that excuse about nothing wrong being gay, etc. The fact that people don't admit they're gay or come out of the closet means they don't want or need you to be feasting about their private lives in a public forum like this!

That is not what "allegation" means, sorry. The word you are looking for is "claim."
