Weird he'd identify as asexual when his content very sexual. Is he just misusing the word? Confused with its meaning? Doing it for the money and not because he genuinely loves it? The last one would be a bad look for an artist.

Do you mean the art he makes or the selfies he posts? Because I’d say that art is subjective and things we find hot aren’t inherently made to be sexual.
The art. And no, if you find someone or something hot, it means you find it arousing. How can you be sexually aroused if you're asexual?

He’s actually addressed this before, here’s what he said:IMG_8981.jpeg

Does he get hard? Does he masturbate? Maybe he's just a voyeur who doesn't like participating but is down to watch? Because asexuality is about completely lacking desire for anything sexual, that includes masturbating.

I mean who are we to dictate other people’s sexuality, and why do you care so much? Why do you need to understand why someone chooses to identify a certain way, and why do you need to be right about it? Sexuality is a spectrum and yet here you are treating it like it’s black and white.

That's a common misconception. Here's a good resource that explains it better

Understanding Asexuality
People can identify as whatever they want, but in reality, only a fraction of them are truly asexual. Most of them are celibates choosing not to have sex rather than lacking all desire to have one.

Asexual people can still get horny or like sexual pics, but they just don't see sex as a necessary thing in their life. It is a spectrum. Anyways, what does it matter how he identifies?

Its not your call to define other sexualities, focus on yourself and go figure out why you even care so much.

People care because they're curious which is very normal and human response to the thing that is new or unknown. Sexuality is defined so people could communicate and understand each other, not to fit aesthetic or a vibe or merge with a certain group, these terms exist for a reason and if someone's idea goes being generally understood terms it is understandable to have questions regarding the topic. Questions like this are the reason why these feelings and desires are getting checked, picked apart and put together into separate identities etc. The ethymology of the word asexual indicates no sexual feelings, no sexuality basically, just like atheist means having no faith in deities and so on. So in this context saying that asexual people can get horny sounds like a contradicting statement.

To be honest, I don't understand shaming people for caring about it when in reality this is the only way people can explore and discover and understand their own feelings and identities, you don't know if person questioning this isn't fitting your description and having internal conflict because of the ideas that they were raised with...

Because there is a set definition and people should know what the labels truly mean instead of declaring themselves whatever they want. It further confuses those already confused. People like him.

Girl, you're the one who's confusing lol

You're the one bending the definition and disregarding what it truly means.

Neither of you knows the actual definition of asexuality even though I literally already linked it in here.

It's not that people are being shamed for questioning, it's that they're coming into the discussion on bad faith. You can't come into a conversation rolling your eyes or looking down your nose at something and then get upset when you're met with similar energy.

He literally says in his own words, “Sexuality for me doesn’t equal to wanting to have sex”. It’s how he defines himself. Some people choose labels because of the specificity they provide, and others choose labels because they’re the closest way to describe how they feel without having to explain it every time. We’re supposed to be open-minded when it comes to different identities, because it doesn’t do anybody any fucking good to force them in/out of boxes based on our own preconceived notions.

And if somehow Theo sees this and declares “Wow, that Gyojun on LPSG sure got me. I guess I’m not asexual after all because his judgement is always correct.” what do you get out of this? A star on the Merriam-Webster Walk of Fame? Fuck man.

I never said what asexuality means to me though, so idk how do you know whether i know it or not. What i shared is other people's perspective. And honestly, I don't see people coming in bad faith, so maybe you're just assuming they are? All I see here is bunch of people met with dissonance between what they heard or reasonably assumed asexuality is and what sounds to them as contradicting explanation. There's a lot of novelties regarding queer terms that constantly evolve so people are justified not to be familiar with them and then weirded out by the changes.

His question was answered, he got pissy, people clapped back. There's really nothing to defend here. It was answered it doesn't matter what you think on either side.
