Ok so I'm a subclinical hypothyroidism guy now, and been taking a low dose prescription to alleviate symptoms, which are several. A lot of unrelated symptoms can all be tied together under thyroid imbalance. Its as varied and different as having cold hands and feet all the time, sudden weight gain, dry scalp, and...loss of libido. Talk about random right!?

While researching the ever loving shit out of hypothyroidism, while being treated for it, I realized my libido is surging back, and my penis is hanging bigger and more plump now, like it used to, before the symptoms started almost a year and a half ago. My cock is warmer now like it used to be. It is also more sensitive now. Now, I know how sensitive the thing is. I've worn a glans restoration sleeve for almost four years straight now and before this thyroid shit started, sensitivity was crazy high. It should have increased. Instead all of last year it seemed to decrease. Hmmmmm, strange.

Also, I was finding it hard to cum as easily as I normally do. Like, getting deepthroated perfectly, like "dream come true" blowjob deepthroating, for 45 minutes nonstop, and never cumming. Or really needing to flex my pelvic floor muscles and clamp my prostate down hard to tire it out so I can finally cum whether having sex with my wife, or trying to cum while alone. I never needed to flex and strain so hard to cum before. I'd also notice that I'd definitely hit the PONR and then I'd just lose it, and it wasn't a mind thing, it was physical. Something was stopping me from cumming easily.

It was during a massage a few weeks ago (and this was like a little over a week after I started thyroid med) that I realized how much more sensitive my cock was, how much faster I got erect, and how unbelievably amazing any contact with my scrotum, between my legs, and my penis felt. Completely "new" feeling like I hadn't felt this stuff before. Its not placebo, I know my body and how it reacts to things. So I decided to look up "penis sensitivity and hypothyroidism". Here it comes.

Lo and mother fucking behold, hypothyroidism can cause desensitized genitals (penis especially), and DELAYED EJACULATION. WHAT?!!?! Really?! AH-HA! And there it is. I kept reading.

Turns out that some loss of sensitivity in your penis is a pretty obvious sign of thyroid imbalance and you should tell your doctor about it ASAP. In fact, in most people with thyroid imbalance, sensitivity loss in their genitals can be one of the very first symptoms of thyroid complications.

I read more. Also turns out that hyperthyroidism can cause symptoms in men of premature ejaculation, while hypothyroidism causes delayed ejaculation. Now I turn to my wife, who's been struggling with thyroid regulation the last few years. Last year in January I could give her head and she'd cum in seconds, and cum a million times in 30 minutes of foreplay and intercourse. After her thyroid med was increased (for no reason, her endocrinologist is a fucking QUACK), she's unable to cum from me giving her head or doing anything to her pussy with hands and mouth, and she relies on only one toy to orgasm, yet she can cum a lot from intercourse (at least she's still multiorgasmic during intercourse!!). But its been a worry and bother of hers for almost a year now. I told her about this particular symptom. She said "yah, I've lost sensitivity for sure, you can tell, and now it makes sense." She just got her dose lowered to where it was when she was feeling great, and in a few weeks she'll know if she's back on track with libido and her genital sensitivity.

So my male friends out there, if you have premature ejaculation, or delayed ejaculation, have you told your doctor to get your thyroid checked?! If you wind up doing a check, DO NOT TAKE BIOTIN (Vitamin B7) FOR AT LEAST 5 DAYS before you do your blood work. Biotin alters thyroid hormone counts if its in your system. I learned this the hard way during my recent blood work.

I am so curious to know if anyone here has thyroid issues and needs medication, and if so, were they premature/delayed ejaculators before medication and thyroid regulation, and since medication started, have they felt relief when they cum?? I am surely getting relief and cumming is becoming much easier again :) Just wanted to share all this new info I've learned the last few weeks, it could help someone out!

Just following up since I've been on Armour thyroid medication for a month now. Yes, absolutely, my erection quality was affected by hypothyroidism. Now I just kind of grab my dick through my PJ pants, and I start to get hard within 10 or so seconds, serious blood flow action, and if I do some jerk off kind of movements on it, I'll get erect. At any time of the day. I'll be 49 this year, I'm not a young buck anymore! I felt like something was off as I said in my post above, and the main thing wasn't weight gain, brain fog, tiredness, fatigue, or the LDL increase, or even the upper 600 count of my testosterone. It was penile sensitivity and delayed orgasm.

Now when I'm doing some solo play, I can actually edge to the PONR and tease it and play around with it. Stimulation feels way more intense so I can change the intensity as I'm playing with my cock. When my wife gives me a blowjob it feels so much more better and I actually feel like I could cum so much faster and easier than I've been able to the last year. When I do some penis pumping (I'm actually horny enough to do it again, I went like a year only doing it like 2 times and the second time I couldn't get hard to pump at all) now I'm literally hard the whole time and for jelqs I'm perfectly semi'd out and thick. Sex feels better, and I don't have to plan and work so hard on cumming. I can relax a lot more now when I cum. When I feel the PONR coming on, I know I'm going to cum, it won't disappear and I have to start over again, now it just happens. The gates stay open, so to speak. Oh and my morning wood, while I never really lost it much the last 14 or so months, its like a tree in between my legs now, its extremely distracting and constant, and I wake up fully swollen and erect every single day. Only serious need of peeing is making it go down, otherwise it stays hard for well over an hour whether I touch it or not.

I had no fucking idea what a turnaround this would be for my life. I haven't fallen asleep on accident once since I started medication a month ago. I don't feel tired at all in the afternoon, if anything I get more work done between 1-5pm. I'm alert at night. I lust after my wife now big time, like I used to. Every aspect of sex with her, the prep work, foreplay, even the massaging and touching and kissing etc. it all sounds like something I want to do right fucking now, it does not sound or seem like a chore, and I want it so bad from her. My erection is so extremely hard and at its fullest again during sex too, she's told me a few times this last month that I'm as big as I used to be, and she can tell what its doing to her pussy, she's very in tune with her body.

So just throwing this out there that the thyroid medication is not placebo action on my libido or penis. I can't fake this if I tried. Again, men reading, look up symptoms of hypothyroidism and if you have even a few, ask your doctor for blood work. STOP ALL VITAMIN/SUPPLEMENTS BEFORE YOU DO BLOOD WORK. Especially B7/biotin, don't take that shit for days before your test it'll ruin your thyroid hormone levels. I'm starting to wonder if all the "dad bod" bullshit is actually just men's thyroids starting to not work so well anymore. I think the environment is weighing heavily on us all, men and women, and they thyroid is sensitive to inputs like pollution, forever plastics and chemicals, heavy metals, water pollutants, etc.. I don't believe men have to be like this after 45. If you watch any old movies or TV shows, not a single man has a belly, and I don't believe its from diet back then. I think its due to our environment. Look into this stuff men out there!!

Lastly, if you noticed a change in your penis, like it seems colder and more shriveled up for no reason, the elasticity of the skin when flaccid seems tighter like its cold out, your erection strength is weaker, you might even think you have some ED, and sensitivity is reduced and you seem to take longer to cum, tell your doctor. Penis changes, as I've read, are some of the earliest signs a man can notice that relates to hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Stay vigilant dudes!

Was your T3 measured to be out of limits, or did you go onto Armour to try it out? I shoot for a TSH below 3 (right now it's well below), and I didn't feel I got a lot out of adding T3 supplementation. Haven't tried Armour, though. Plenty of times I've gotten my T4 supplementation (Levoxyl) adjusted and it's made a difference in my libido, though not currently.

All my levels of TSH, T3 and T4 were "within range" but TSH and T4 together suggested subclinical/mild hypothyroidism, so I pushed my doctor to do something about it. My T3 was somewhere in range but again suggested some hypo.

I didn't choose Armour, actually I was prescribed NP Thyroid (I think that's it, or WP?) but the pharmacy filled it with Armour. My doc said both are pretty much the same, just that Armour is a really old patent (and endocrinologists don't like it at all...but I think they don't like it because it works so well and other newer medications cost more, like Tirosint, etc.). I learned that Armour has T3 in it and other meds don't like the Unithroid that my wife is now on. Whatever is happening is happening very strongly! I've lost a little weight already and I've been unable to be in the gym but just 2 days a week I'm too busy to make it in (and dermatology surgeries on my arms aren't helping currently, I'm out of commission for lifting for a month at least). My metabolism is certainly up. Tuesday I planned to do a long prostate session and give myself full release, I hadn't cum in 3 days that day, and for hours I was thinking about it and how wonderful and delicious release was going to feel, and I fantasized about doing myself and touching myself, it was quite vivid and exciting. I haven't had thoughts that powerful in over a year. Cumming last year sounded like a chore to me. Now its all I want to do. I get upset when I can't find the time because of my fucking work and job!
