Timothée chalamet

Though Timmy's said he's not considering any superhero projects in the foreseeable future, here's an artist's (estellaestellaestella) render of him as Loki:

I enjoy most of the Marvel Movies and accept Super Hero films & Shows are not going anywhere. But something about Timmy I appreciate is that his career and level of fame exists entirely without any of it. For example, I think Timothée Chalamet & Tom Holland are equally famous. They both make headlines with anything they do, are the same age and are both very good actors.

But if you remove Spiderman/Peter Parker from Tom Hollands resume, his best work is behind him and most recent stuff has been mediocre. Meanwhile you could cut TImmy's resume of films in-half and it's still impressive and maintains forward career momentum. Heck, in the last few days suddenly Timmy has a voice acting role for the Netflix show Entergalactic due out this year.

He had the potential to become a respected actor, but his management cashed that in for "money now" from fantasy franchises. No young actor comes out of that with a long term career, just bitter that advisors ended up richer than they did and often with a substance problem.

The best roles in fantasy franchise are for older actors, who can fall back on theatre work.

He needs to play gay again, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

People is starting to forget why they fell in love with him in the first place, we all love him because he played gay beautifully.
that’s definitely not why

Dune is not the Hunger Games or Divergent or Harry Potter. This is a misplaced assertion.

I know this is off-topic but in regard to Tom Holland's career, while it's true he's not making the best quality choices lately he's only 26 and Disney is paying him very big bucks for him to keep playing Peter. From what I understand, his agents pretty much got him the same deal as Robert Downey Jr., not making as in over 10 mil a picture and a piece of the merchandise money profits. But that's all and let's get back to Timothee

He doesn't need to become a respected actor; he's the most enduringly popular Spider-Man and will have a long-enough career (and plenty of F-U money) off that role alone. There's always time for him to do a Daniel Radcliffe-style pivot into theater work and "adult" dramatic roles, if that's what he wants.

I was talking about Chalamet, don't think he's the most enduringly popular Spider-Man ;-)

Tom Holland has a job not a career, but his dad should be able to help him navigate advisors etc so hopefully he won't end up too broke.

Damn you are not a nice person

I think Timothee was smart to focus on other works and not jump into Marvel/Superhero stuff too soon. The problem with doing that is sure, they are immensely popular and you can be set for life off one character (Tom Holland). But if you're looking to be a respected actor, as I think Timmy is.... you would want more than just that to your name.

He could venture into Marvel at some point but he's got to build a resume first that stands on its own so that whatever character he plays later won't define him. This is the problem Tom Holland is having... it's the same problem Chris Hemsworth has now. Hemsworth is a multi talented great actor, but all anyone ever knows him as is Thor - despite doing a wide range of other things.

Andrew Garfield has been moderately successful breaking away from that stigma, but Garfield was also probably the least popular Spiderman of the three who have played him, and only got 2 movies from the role while the others got more. Even so, when people see Andrew in a different film, they will often say oh look its Spiderman. Because unfortunately that is still how a lot of people know him.

Timothee is smart to build a resume first and that will define his career as an actor, before jumping into the superhero scene too soon and having that become his defining trait.

Well if you were talking about Chalamet then I’m not sure I agree with your assessment of his choices. Choosing to work with Denis Villeneuve on Dune is a decision very much in line with his choices to work with Luca Guadagnino, Greta Gerwig and Wes Anderson. Hell, Dune snagged more Oscars than most of his other films have so far.

His costar from CMBYN is working as a time share concierge in the Caribbean, so unless they recast I think that's over.
The director said he was open to doing another one, but that he would not do it without Armie Hammer. They will not recast, so unless Armie's scandals go away we are not likely to see it happen.

The director also loved him some Armie so that could also be why we won’t see the sequel.
