I’m rooting for WONKA to succeed but that trailer was utterly cringe from start to finish. It was greenlit by the same clueless, nostalgia-baiting studio execs who greenlit THE FLASH and MATRIX RESURRECTIONS, before they got fired amidst the WB/Discovery merger.
I think it’s good for Timmy that DUNE 2 will come later, because he’ll be able to redeem himself with that in the eyes of the studios. Denis Vileneuve is one of the most consistent directors working today.

It’s directed by Paul King, who is responsible for two of the most beloved children’s films of this century, one of which has a 99% on rotten tomatoes. It has an all star cast, Timmy included. There are a lot of reasons to be optimistic about it, but only time will tell.

What if the movie sings at me? I suck cock and all, but it’s clear to me that I didn’t inherit the showtune gene. The singing is, for me, the worst part of any Wonka adaptation.
oh, that’s fine. You’re not obligated to like it, lol. All I’m saying is that there’s reason to believe it won’t be an all around bad movie. And yes, it will sing at you, there’s a bunch of new songs and Timmy will sing. So. Brace yourself, I guess.
