Ugh. I'm just waiting for the day when AI is used for political propaganda that causes real, major problems. This shit needs to be legislated before it gets out of control.
It is damn near there already. Facebook has been infested with AI images. And what is sad is so many people believe the images are real.

the odyssey doesn't even have that to cut. and Telemachus is one of the few ancient Greek charcters that has no male lovers to speak of

Actually there's Pisistratus, that becomes his close friend and they even "sleep together", whatever that meant to ancient greeks... He's a minor character and doesn't have a big role in the story so he's often overlooked. I'm really quite sure he'll NOT be in Nolan's version!

From wiki: "Pisistratus became an intimate friend of Telemachus, son of Odysseus, and travelled with him on his unsuccessful search for his father"

"Intimate friends" 100% means lovers.

reading the Original text it does not seem that way I am afraid none of the words one expects to be used (like some of the words uses with Achilles and patroclus) and remember up untill very recently men shared a bed as a gestured of trust. maybe the producer will do something but do not hold your breath

And Nolan is homophobe as well. Although there's nothing explicit homoerotic in The Odissey, he'll try to make it even less so...
What do you base it on that Nolan is a homophobe? He specifically mentioned Brokeback Mountain as part of why he cast Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.

He (and Bale) repeatedly said that they didn't want a Robin in their movies to avoid comparison with the previous Batman films. It was clear that they feared or disliked any possible homoerotic reading of their movies. And don't tell me about the fake token "Robin" in Dark Knight Rises...

Yeah, I’m not a classics major but so far as I can recall, Odysseus is among the most hetero of Greek heroes, which is rather unusual.

But is it REALLY necessary to make another movie based on it? There are at least five previous versions, both theatrical movies and TV series, and another one has just been released!

By the way, Telemachus there is played by a girlish blond guy, VERY different from Tom!
