anachronistic means it doesn't match the time period it's meant to be set in. as in, the clothes and armor they're wearing isn't correct for when the odyssey is meant to have happened, which was the bronze age

I think judging the movie based on a few early still is very premature. And Nolan has give good shirtless moments in his movies. Bale was shirtless a decent amount in Dark Knight.
