I don't get that show at all. First they bring this perfect specimen and ugly him up with a monkey suit that isn't even related to the plot -

Then they give the most idiotic unrealistic plots.

I mean time traveling, ghosts and supernatural aliens I'm fine with.
But him being a stripper in an empty club? No way. That club should be full blown with everyone fighting over his G-string.

it wasn't unrelated to the plot. the whole monkey thing was explained in a past season. he was dying and they had to save him and that's what turned him into monkey man.
him being back to monkey man this season was more of a visual gag than anything else. the other characters had their powers tweaked. allison basically got a whole new set of powers. they could've just had him be super strong and invulnerable without the monkey suit, but they wanted to keep playing it for laughs

It's sad because I only saw the first episode then saw your post so I was a bit more hyped on seeing them being undressed only to have it be rather underwhelming

Agreed unfortunately, I’d been SO excited for this season as well.The plot was all over the place and let’s not talk about that relationship.

i've had tik toks from interviews of them talking about season 4 and they don't seem particularly pleased.
like when aidan and ritu were paired up being asked questions and very clearly trying to avoid mentioning the stupid romance plot they were given

So far I've seen David, Ritu, Robert and Aidan carefully warning us that we're not gonna like what we'll see in it. And David in particular said he doesn't like the new romance in one of the latest interviews. I'm sure you'll find then all easily if you google recent interviews
