Finally an update, I asked about this a year ago, really upsetting, he seemed much loved by all accounts on the obituary

It sucks to report this but he did indeed die 11 years ago. He was only 24. Someone just sent me his Obituary which had a picture of him and also confirmed the initials he had tattooed on himself were actually his own... That's depressing.
