Why do you think more men are turning to sex work?

As a sexworker consultant I have seen and talked to many sexworkers, male and female over the past 5 years and the number 1 reason is always ease of money but combined with validation seeking or just a way to explore their sexuality while staying in control of the interaction. Every one of them started out trying with low wage paying jobs and realized it wasn't ever paying enough to finance the life they want which isn't anything extravagant. They want to go to college without going $50k in debt. They want to have their own apartment without sharing the space with 5 roommates, they want to be able to travel and buy groceries and not worry if they'll be laid off next month.

I'd say, ever increasing costs of living and minimum wages not being enough to afford a normal life is what drives more people to sexwork.
What kind of sexworker consulting do you do? I would like to start working too. How do you price your services and what advice could you provide to help me get a running start? Thanks!

I've discussed the 'G4P' thing with a friend of mine- he has published work, is a very respected authority in human behavior, and is well-known and respected in the psych field. He says that at the end of the day there really is no such thing as 'G4P'.

You don't hear that, however, as he says it is not politically correct at all to say it. This is a very complicated discussion.

Now, somebody who does cam work with absolutely no physical interaction whatsoever, yes, but there is a limit to that, too. Some guy bonking another guy -either on film or as an escort- nope, not a chance.

I can't speak to anyone else's truth, obviously, but like I said earlier in the thread, I never felt like there was an issue with straight guys taking over escort work in my area. Now, of course, there were guys selling themselves in a way that would suggest they were straight or give the impression they were, but I would be surprised to hear that anyone who was doing it regularly (as opposed to just one time or whatever) was actually straight. You have to do things as a professional escort that straight guys just aren't going to want to do and the money for most isn't going to be worth it for them.

Even though it's paid at 30 euros p/h I consider it more volunteering.

There's a sexworker health clinic here that provides free and anonymous std checks for sexworkers and when I was still doing porn I was approached during one of the checkups to attend a new focus group that addressed the needs and wants of male sexworkers in and around Amsterdam. This was a government initiative to learn more about sexwork and the challenges they face.

I just kept showing up and shared my ideas and then the clinic offered to hire me as a consultant part time which in reality is more like being an intermediary between the government and sexworkers. I listen and talk to sexworkers and the challenges they face and provide feedback to the government. When asked I give the desired solutions but it's up to municipality of Amsterdam to implement them.

If you're going to do this then I advise to talk to your local health services and see if there is a demand for your services. You should also have a way of connecting with sexworkers in your area in order to hear their challenges and represent them.
