Most towns and cities that have a homeless population usually have a shelter or two where these unfortunate people can get a meal, wash, hopefully get some treatment and sleep indoors. I applaud you for helping the unfortunate. There are no homeless shelters in Bahamaland. A few churches have feeding programs, typically providing a per week hot meal. The poor feed from rubbish skips of hotels and restaurants too. I have fed and given cash to some poor unhoused persons and not feared violence from them. Sadly, with no fixed abode, they are exposed and vulnerable to robbery and sexual assault. Be aware that person invited into your home could steal from you.
