I'm kinda glad his Shazam sequel failed. His take on Shazam felt like an entirely different character to Asher Angel's Billy. Asher's portrayal is quite chill and mature for a kid whereas Zachary acts like a caricature of a teenage boy. You can't even say it's a product of the transformation because his siblings act like themselves in their avatar forms.
The discrepancy is made worse in the sequel due to Asher's limited screentime. I can't care about Billy's story when Zachary is cracking jokes like I can in an earnest scene with Asher.
A huge mistep in otherwise entertaining movies.
