Great topic. I'll add mine, but not too different from those above.
Deadlifts--absolute favorite.
Squats
Weighted pull-ups
Weighted dips
Hip thrusts--just started with these. Awesome for the glutes and have really helped me improve my other lifts and overall athleticism.

planks for abs
pull-ups for shoulders/chest/arms/back
squats for quads
lunges for legs and glutes
push ups for upper body

I usually do body weight workouts since my schedule makes it tough to get to a gym. you can do those 5 pretty much anywhere anytime

Interestingly, these are all exercises I initially hated, but have grown to -- well, not always love, but sometimes sorta like. They're certainly staples of my workouts at this point:

1. Pull-ups
2. Deadlifts
3. Cleans/snatches
4. Box jumps
5. Running

Walking, running, jumping and climbing (which includes pull-ups and hanging sit-ups) through my favourite forest. Sex is nice, too.

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned dancing yet
I'm happy to dance the night away, but most people don't appreciate my David Byrne dance-moves.

We all have different goals and needs. But, we're all trying to work out efficiently so that we have time to enjoy the rewards of a fit body (yes some are more fit than others, ha).

What are the five exercises you couldn't do without to reach your goals or maintain your fitness.

Top of my head, I'll start by saying:

Rowing. Great back, chest, shoulder workout.

Squats. Great for legs, ass, back.

Planks. Abs respond to this.

Yoga. Flexibility and de-stresser.
Bike. Cardio workout with less knee strain.

What's your? And why?
sounds like you hit it right , I swim once a week and add total body workout routine once a week also , work out 6 day a week

Squats
Bench press
Pull ups or pull downs
Military press
Calf raises.

Can hit pretty much all muscle groups, including arms with bench press and pull ups.
