It's all in the junior and teenage years, teens are still just as homophobic as ever. Try sticking it out during those development years when you're in the closet in that environment.I agree with DBreban. Lesbians in female sports are totally accepted by straight, and of course the gay, communities, but in male sports - for whatever reason - it would be hard for a guy on the team to come out of the closet, or get into the team through recruitment if openly gay, despite the huge progress in LGBTQ+ awareness and acceptance in countries like Australia.
Forfunsake12: The Pacific Islanders that make up many rugby teams are religiously conservative and will never go along with supporting anything to do with LGBQT+ - unfortunately.
Has anyone seen guelfi with a moon woman? Just saying!Cute. Hopefully a real male couple can go to the Brownlow together.

He's straight. Straight guys have a peculiar sense of humour. Pretending to be a couple is supposed to be funny.Has anyone seen guelfi with a moon woman? Just saying!
Oh i know. I also have a peculiar sense of humour. He knows he turns on men and enjoys the attention, and there's nothing wrong with thatHe's straight. Straight guys have a peculiar sense of humour. Pretending to be a couple is supposed to be funny.
Gay baiting is the lowest form of engagement farming.Oh i know. I also have a peculiar sense of humour. He knows he turns on men and enjoys the attention, and there's nothing wrong with that
Gay baiting to me is pretending to be gay to try and get an audience. Guelfi doesn't pretend to be gay, he just knows what thirsty guys want. So he isn't allowed to be shirtless with other men because it's percieved as gay baiting?Gay baiting is the lowest form of engagement farming.
I'm talking about the photo I posted. I would never argue posting shirtless photos on Instagram is gay baiting.Gay baiting to me is pretending to be gay to try and get an audience. I suspect Guelfi's attitude is why the men's game struggles with this issue. Tone deaf. I'm a footy tragic and I've started to fall out of love with the game because homophobia is rife. For what it's worth I've met Guelfi a couple of times and he's a really nice dude, came across as really down to earth and didn't make a big deal about himself. Never struck me as the type to intentionally gaybait at all.
Have to agree with this comment 100%I'm talking about the photo I posted. I would never argue posting shirtless photos on Instagram is gay baiting.
The players remain completely tone deaf when it comes to this issue. 3 players were banned for anti-gay slurs. There may be gay players that would love to "soft launch" their real relationship but their workplace is openly hostile.
The photo of him at the brownlow? You consider that gay baiting? While i agree many in the game probably are tone deaf to it, I'm not sure 2 footballers being asked to pose together for a photo is gay baiting. And yes there may be some players who wish they could attend with a male partner, i can't see this post would be the one that stops them.I'm talking about the photo I posted. The comment that's like insinuating they're launching their relationship? But they aren't because they're straight, so the only assumption is it's a joke? So what exactly is the joke about two men being a couple? The photo of him at the brownlow? You consider that gay baiting?
