Anti-white racism is permitted in the gay community?

Some guy on iG shared this video of a photo of apparently some majority white gay xmas party in North Carolina, with a reference to "diversity" as a joke since it's mostly white gays. The video itself, didn't bother me too much. It's pretty funny (despite the semi-strawman base of the joke itself). Whatever.

I don't think the video itself is anti-white or racist or even hateful. But the comments however... oh my! Am I the only one who thought most of those comments were mostly projection, stereotyping or anti-white? as well as disrespectful "tokenizing" comments about poc guys in the video, the amount of bitter would put vinegar to shame. Also defensive personal attacks on anyone that didn't join in "the fun" and pushed back against the narrative.

If jokes are actually equal opportunity, fair enough. But I know someone wouldn't be able to make similar comments about other races without being cancelled.

This is just a one more addition to an ongoing trend of policing the friend groups of white people. Very strange.

So you read the original post and your first thought was about censorship (or the lack there of) instead of the root causes for some of the comments attached to the IG post? Incredible.

It might be (Anti-White racism) a thing, and yes it is technically a thing'; but listen here, it's 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000X times better being White, (and all the systemic privileges that come with it) than being Black.

You have (the example you gave) two ignorant ass Black gay guys who can't even speak or type in proper English who kee kee on Instagram or on Twitter/X (whatever the fuck Elon Jerkwad renamed it now) or wherever else on social media, who say really disgusting stuff like "These white gays are toxic.". Not saying this is okay, but yeah this isn't a problem at all. Again not excusing or agreeing with their behavior, but I doubt the planet had any major seismic shift over this.

Compared to the billions of examples of racism that Black/POC LGBTQ people face, and the fact that there are a lot of White gays/this community in general which are very much in fact racist. I say that as a Gay Black man myself.

Do you know how acceptable it was to see "no Blacks, fems, fats or Asians" in dating profiles? For years if not decades. No one would bat an eye at that. For some/in some places, it's still acceptable. And no, please do not say "it's just preference."

"No Blacks" and "No Chinese/Japanese" for example, were historically used to segregate and disenfranchise (or worse); slavery, forced labor, internment, racial violence, redlining, and many other things techphil mentioned. For generations. GENERATIONS.

And then a post calls out how undiverse a group is (I've lived near The Castro, Chelsea and West Hollywood at different points in my life -- just look at census data and you can see how undiverse they are) and you are upset? No one is saying "no whites."

In the very rare occasions I see the words "no whites" in the gay community, it is by POC reclaiming their power from a "community" where whiteness dominates. Again, walk through any of the neighborhoods I mentioned before. The majority of residents, business owners, advertising (from everything from spray tans to healthcare) is catered towards white people. "No whites" is not hurting any of those things.

If you are upset by seeing joking comments on a photo, you are privileged. You haven't experienced the systemic, pervasive racism that a person of color has. That uncomfortability is just a mere taste, a lick even, of what POC face. Every. Single. Day. Of. Our. Lives.

And it's not just limited to the U.S. A white or white-passing can go to any country, any continent and at worst be tolerated and at best be revered. Try being a Brown person in Europe. Or Asia. This is just an example in just one arena.

No fats, no fems no one over 45 and the token comments are valid observations. What I see in the IG comments are jokes and a critique of a fictional IG post. Asserting friend groups of white people are being policed is ludicrous. No one can become your friend without your consent. Mr

It's randoms whining about imagined race quotas from total strangers that they don't even know. Weirdo behaviour.

And yeah the issue isn't the jokes being "offensive". It's the hypocrisy and double standard I take issue with. You people defending this would probably not defend anti black or anti Hispanic jokes if the roles were reversed here.

Also it's very common for jokes to contain underlying social commentary within them? Which is precisely what is happening under this post. Are you denying that?

Jokes don't exist in vacuums and they still can be criticised. Especially if they are based on falsehoods or prejudice.

Could you please show me where I stated any friends group should comprise of x % white people and y % black people in my prior post? Re: the term token: to me it simply means the representation of non-white people in the photo collage was extremely small. That's just a fact.

Exactly. All this misdirected aggression, ranting and raving here, when the OP should have dealt with this matter on IG by messaging C. Braun directly. BTW I hope you are now pleased to see Mr. Braun deleted all of the comments bigboaster.
