He probably trust his team when he was younger thinking that would put him in a bigger position 'cause they thought they can compete with Bieber popularity but when his team mess things up and put him in a position that his record label dump him, he start to do random things to get attention.
I kinda disagree, during his peak he had charisma, good looks and a good voice that's why he gets some attention but they mess things up and he lost the passion
