The issue of the avatars is linked with the issue of minors as far as I am conerned. If this is an adult site only and is recognized as such by the smut police than there should be little censorship except for extreme vulgarity which is hard to define thise days.
But, if teens are allowed back in, then the avatars have to be pg13. We can't have it both ways.

Who would make such a decision/ We jsut have to ignore the avatars we don't like the same way we ignore the threads we don't like to read.

I can't see any way that the board can police the age of the persons who access it. Can a 14 year old be prevented from listing his age as 21. or vice versa? I doubt it. There should be no age limits in my opinion. I am sure that the teens who visit here have issues they are dealing with that many of us never found answers to when we were their age. However, all members of the board should be aware that the fuzz might be posing as teens as an enticement for arrest and prosecution of anyone who inappropriately answers their emails and/or PMs. For maximum protection of the board and its adult members, emails and PMs from anyone identifying himself as a teenager should not be responded to. Let the teens look and read, but ignore them otherwise until they identify themselves of being of legal age.

I think it is unfortunate in a way that we have to turn teens away.
I can understand why, however - the powers that be don't want to admit that young people are sexual beings, and that people as young as 12 may have an issue which is sexual in one way or another. One extreme being about their partner, and sexual in the most literal form, but the other a simple anxiety that their penis isn't going to "measure up".
I would prefer if LPSG kept it's doors open for young people because it isn't simply a forum for large shlongs, and it does play host for many, many different sexual issues and discussion, which young people could benefit from.
My own two cents is that I would prefer no nudity in Avatars, plus restricted Adult links/hook up forums, and the rest open to anyone, but realistically that won't appease "the Man" who is still in denial that anyone under the age of 25 has sex.
(note: "The Man" is refering to an obscure concept of "The Powers that Be", i.e. those that make up their minds and determine the values of society, not any kind of snide comment aimed at our new Administrator!)

I just now noticed that not only have teens been banned, but their posts have been deleted too. Now a lot of threads don't make sense and it's weird.
Believe it or not, I'll mis chimeratx. He was a thickhead at times, but I kept holding out hope he'd mature nicely. I thought we did a good job on interaction between adults and teens, I was proud of us for that. God knows in this information-deprived society, they need somewhere to go. I really feel sad about this.

We still have some teens here. They just created new accounts and said they were 18. The younguns that have done this can't possibly realize the possible ramifications that we all face if "big brother" sees fit to nose into our part of the net. They can find out our identities from our IP addresses and they can fabricate any type of "evidence" they want. Don't believe me on the evidence, just look at Iraq.
