I’ve just recently been to a new (to me) bathhouse a couple times. I like the vibe, and have questions.

I’ve mostly fooled around before at the gym steam room/sauna or a public, non-sexual Korean spa or Japanese public bath (men only sections). I enjoy the public aspect, and the anonymity of jerking off in public with other guys, watching and being watched, and maybe the threat of getting caught.

At the bath house, is there a way to signal that this is what I’m into there too? Given the setting, at this location anyway, guys seem to be looking for some more one-on-one time than I’m looking for. I’m a look but don’t touch guy myself, mainly. No kissing or genital touching, (I’m partnered) and I don’t really touch anyone.

Any thoughts?
Basically the same: body language with some adjustments. For example, you're sitting in a dry sauna and someone comes in and sits next to you. If you don't like him, your body language is to kinda turn or face away, move away a little, stand up and sit somewhere else, or actually leave. But you like him, so you don't do any of that.

Instead, you open your towel and start jerking a little. He does too. Now you're in your element. But then he slowly bends down, intending to suck your dick. You raise your hand and gently block him, but otherwise not move away and continue jerking. So you're communicating that what was going on previously was fine, but you don't want to escalate. At this point he might pivot from body language to verbalizing what he wants e.g. look at you and say "let me suck it". You shake your head and say no, but continue jerking. You can even verbalize too e.g. "I Just want to jerk". If he's not satisfied with your limits, he might stop engaging and put his dick away or even leave altogether.

Some guys can be insistent. Just hold firm and don't be shy about pushing them away.

The key is staying in "public" areas. Following or inviting someone to a room carries with it the assumption that there will be sexual contact. Don't go to dark rooms either. You won't be able to see anything and you WILL be touched.
Thanks!

I have this obstacle in my mind that such venues are potentially untidy...
It's not necessarily the case, just what my stupid head thinks.....
They can be well-maintained blah blah...
And yes I ve been to various bathhouses in different continents. Cleanliness left aside, I still find the majority of them to be too "dark" for the jolly reality I live in...

I’ve gone to bathhouses for more than 15 years in several countries: US, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama. I enjoy it. Not every time because not always you get lucky or the steam in the places does not get as hot as I’d wish.

Wow interesting story. Are you married? Worried about STDs and bringing home something ?
No, not in any type of relationship. Condoms are free and literally everywhere.
If you crave anonymous sex you certainly have many options to choose from in a bathhouse.
At the end of the day, whatever you do or don't do is solely on you.

So I visited my first bathhouse, Club Orlando 15 plus years ago. I was nervous, scared and intimidated but very curious. I exploded the steam room, sauna, maze and more. I was approached by several men but I never did anything, spending a total of maybe an hour there.
Several years later, I visited Flex Phoenix. When I went to check in the attendant asked if I had ever been to a bathhouse before (I guess I looked nervous) and even though I had, I felt like the proper answer was no. So he said, "Come on back and take a tour" it was a Fri afternoon and the crowd wouldn't arrive for hours. So he led me around, showing me the amenities, explaining the rules and just making me feel relaxed and comfortable.
Now after our tour in which he would ask me questions regarding my experiences, preferences and different things we were back at the check in and he suggested a Private Room with a shower, a one month membership, an enema hose, poppers and lube. All in it was close to a hundred.
He escorted me back to my room, asked if I needed anything and took off.
So I explored, it was basically dead, people not off work, so I was chill'n in my room stroking to some gay porn with the door closed and it had to be about 6ish someone is knocking on my door, I opened the door and the attendant is there with a change of clothes and asked if he could shower in my room because the staff isn't supposed to use the public shower.
He was sexy, he was kind so I let him in. He walks into the bathroom, turns on the shower and says "Hey you can come in with me" I walked into the steamy hot small 2 x 2 shower stall and I'm poked by his semi hard 9" thick monster!
He fed me his cock, teaching me how to swallow it slowly without pressure or fear of gagging or worse.
He licked my tight hole for a good 30 minutes ❤️❤️ explaining how to use poppers and when. He put on a condom, lubed me up, instructed me to slowly inhale in each nostril, hold and then very slowly entered me as I released the fresh poppers from my lungs. A huge euphoric rush as he slowly but firmly fucked me from behind. After 5 minutes, I was riding him like a champ! Every position we could manage, we both came multiple times over the hour we spent together.
Exhausted, he left, thanked me and said "Now, you don't have to be nervous, you have already done more than you expected so if nothing else happens at least you are satisfied."
And he was right! I was exhausted, I had another 9 hours on my 12 hour rental so I closed and locked the door and fell asleep.
After, waking I jumped in the shower, use my hose to clean things up and feeling refreshed I figured I'd venture out and get some fresh towels. Place was getting busy, there were men in every area and amenity but not like active.
I got my towels, walked back in my room, I has left my door open but I was only hanging up towels ... This well built toned man walked in stroking his cock and asked if I was a top or bottom! Like wow! Let's just get to it, no pleasantries, no warmth ... So I turned around, I stared at him and without a reaction I dropped to my knees, grabbing my poppers I sucked him until he asked to FUCK me. Of course!!! So I lubed up, he put on a condom and he fucked my good and hard!!!
He left, I'm exhausted, I shower, and while drying off I could hear the place has really started to pop!
I wrap my towel around my throbbing, bulging cock and walk into the maze. There in total darkness, someone lightly grabs my cock and leads me to his mouth. As he's blowing me (he's seated on a bench) another guy is fingering my ass. Next thing ya know, I'm standing on the bench my cock and nut sack in this guy's mouth all while having my ass eaten!!!
I was fucked 6 times that night!!!
Since that time I've visited clubs in Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Georgia, Vegas and I have visited Club Orlando since to redeem myself.
So I personally LOVE BATHHOUSES!!!
How bout you??
Over the years I had my share of bath house visits, or saunas as they’re called in Europe. Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, Amsterdam, Cologne. Prior to HIV, the experience was fairly spectacular except for a major nuisance. Crabs, gonorrhea, chlamydia, scabies, syphillis, herpes and more. I did not come down with all of it, but the first four yes. As health departments began opening testing centers inside bath houses, I learned the sad statistic. STD’s are massively concentrated there, whether we want to deny this or not. Today you can be “safe” but against what? There are 100’s of new diseases, variants and treatment resistant strains. Your best defense is to keep your immune system strong and test like a madman, avoid poppers as they destroy your white blood cells (It’s butyl [rubber] nitrate). Beyond that, decide whether the risk is worth the fun. Your choice. I’ve sworn off in favor of quality over quantity.

I've been to Steamworks in Toronto. You usually see the same people there on weekends. Saturday nights are the busiest. It can be a lot of fun when busy. When it's dead, it's dead. But also I usually get a sore throat a few days after visiting which sucks.

Had a good time at Steamworks TO when I visited. Pretty clean considering and the crowd was pretty cool. Mostly younger and diverse with some hot couples who were enjoying all the attention they got. Will def go back.

I get a room when I’ve gone because I hate public stuff- hands pop out from everywhere and try to hone in on the action. Not my thing because most of the guys I’m usually not in to. I will say I have frequently gotten sick after going- sore throats, coughs, runny nose, etc. So there is a risk. I have caught 3 STDs (that I know of) over the 20+ years of going to bathhouses. So I think it’s wise to at least take Prep and Pep if you want to play there. Kissing is on my list of no-no’s now because I don’t want to get sick!

What's Pep and what'sitspurpose?

A dose of doxycycline taken within a few hours of having risky sex. It is supposed to decrease your chance of getting a bacterial sti like syphyllis, Chlamydia, maybe Gonorrhea- I’ve read different things about that though. Viral infections are still on the table however (except for HIV if you’re on PREP-it decreases the risk of infection by like 1% or something.) But I’m not a doctor so do your own research.

Prep studies have shown that if taken as prescribed, i.e. once a day, every day, around the same time that it is 99.x% effective in preventing HIV infection. When speaking of (PEP) Post exposure prophylaxis it refers to a medication taken after exposure that can prevent or reduce the spread of an infection or disease. For HIV a combination of HIV drugs can be prescribed and if taken within typically 72 hours of an exposure and taken for typically 28 days for this purpose it has shown to reduce the risk of contracting HIV.
In the above comment about DoxyPep this is strictly referring to STI's not HIV. Doxy is a common antibiotic around for decades and used to treat various ailments. Recently some research has been done to use it as a PEP for STI's (bacterial only) and these studies have shown good results. That said this is still controversial as typically people won't be advised to take antibiotics like this on any regular basis. Again this use is fairly new and not full fleshed out yet.

Another term you will here is Prep on demand. This is when you take 2 doses of a specific prep mediation a day before your sexual encounter and then I believe 1 dose the day of and for 2 days after for a total of 5 doses. This is believed to reduce the risk of contracting HIV and is a widely used practice. That said it does not have the same level of clinical trials that say Prep has.

Before taking anything like this which is prescription only one should seek medical advice obviously to see what might be best suited to your needs given your activities and risk tolerance, etc.

Hope that helps a bit.
