Bathhouses Good? Bad?

I haven't been post-pandemic, but I used to LOVE bath houses and sex clubs.
I'm from the Bay Area so I used to frequent Steamworks in Berkeley and 442 in San Francisco. Since I've moved to Atlanta I've been to Flexx a few times but it's mostly boring. I also went to a Manifest thing which was sort of cool but the lay out of the place sucked because it was just like I kept walking in circles.

The first few times I went it was really only because the person I wanted to hook up with couldn't host and that was their best option. One of the best fuck sessions in my life was the first time I went to Steamworks and I literally fucked the guy I was talking to and left. The next time I met up with a guy on my birthday and I started to walk around a little more and play. After that I started going solo.

After that I would go pretty regularly every few months. By myself. And had some awesome sex. Going pretty regularly also made it clear to me that I love being naked.

Like I said being in Atlanta, the baths and sex clubs aren't as hot. The few times I've gone to Flexx i've mostly just walked around and left with no action. It's so pretty and big but not much action. The main memory I have from the Manifest event was this one asian top who was fucking the shit out of this bottom. I regret not getting that tops number so we could smash bottoms together lol!!

that's the ONLY thing I don't like about sex clubs and baths is the sort of non-verbal cues. People barely talk in those places and I get it... but it's kinda like, SAY SOMETHING. One thing I loved at Steamworks is they'd have these boards where people who had rented rooms could write down what they were looking for and what their room # was. Anyway.

I went to Ft Lauderdale twice once in 2021 and once in 2022. And I had planned on going to the clubs but never did. But ultimately I love the baths.

What did you think of Eros in San Francisco, if you ever went? Is it even still there? (It's been more than a few years since I was there.) The location is convenient, but everything is out in the open, which appeals to some people but not everyone.

The sex club in Fort Lauderdale is very hot, though again it's been a few years (plus) since I was there.

Spartacus in Puerto Vallarta is great fun. Almost everyone is on vacation and pretty relaxed. And it could not be more convenient to the bars etc.

Steamworks in Chicago is still the ne plus ultra of bathhouses, imo. Just sizzling hot and huge and full of prime Midwestern beef (my personal taste).

never went to Eros. honestly don't think i even heard of it... where was it located?
the only other place I went to in the bay area was nob hill theater which is sadly closed down. I mostly went there for the sex shows from porn stars but they had little play areas that were kinda fun too.

Probably the biggest issue with these places, especially these days when you have the existence of social media and the competition of the apps. If you visit these places regularly or locally, you’ll probably see many of the same attendees.

It’s not like back in the day when it was more casual, more space to socialize. It’s now just get off and go, but with no end to it. Why would I want to stick my peen in the same guy’s ass on every visit knowing he’s back there every week.

It was located near the corner of Market and Church, in a relatively small space. I just looked it up and it's still in the city, but now in a new space near Turk and Taylor (yikes).

Nob Hill Male I wish I'd gone to, but never did. My main memory of them, is when I was younger in the Bay Area, they would list their movie times in the Chronicle, along with all the regular movie theaters. I would call the listed number and get horny from the recording describing all the porn shows. The thing is, this was still in the time of printed phone bills and it was a charged call, so the number appeared on the phone bill my mother got. Somehow she never said anything to me about it.
 
Yeah being with same guys over and over is fun and all. Nothing really wrong with that though..

Keeps the number of men slept with down..

Unless like me..more the merrier same guys and new guys lots of new guys and as time goes by the number of men fucking or receiving the fucking keeps going up.. then as get older and realize you can’t count how many guys been with because it’s a lot

You don’t know how many Ive slept with, neither do I lol. Let’s not be silly here. This is over a course of a decade and a half when both West Side Club and East Side Club were once open in Manhattan, three mayors, nightclubs getting shutdown, real estate getting jacked up, PrEP becoming accessible, etc. All of this affects behavior.
 
The ones I’ve been to, have also been good for hilarious social interactions. My last visit a week ago, had more hilarious conversations with guys, than I had anything else.
 
There’s not many bath houses around here .. used to be several but most have closed down over the years … so very seldom go to them anymore .. going to the gym ( locker rooms and showers). And then few places have spas and hot tubs..


A lot of things have changed over the years .. as a lot of people live in fear of hiv for years and prep has given them a sense of security .. but there’s other things out there 10 times more easier to get than hiv but those don’t phase anyone..

I doubt they lied about their status. Unless they got a thrill from pretending to be HIV+ to inflict distress, which seems more like an isolated personality disorder than a common thread among random guys you met for sex.

You don't automatically become poz after having sex with a poz guy. In fact, you're far, far more likely not to seroconvert. So I would assume (Occam's razor) that they are poz for real but unsurprisingly didn't seroconvert you just from one or three hookups.
