Incorrect. Again, look at films like Love, Nymphomaniac, Antichrist, Shortbus, American Translation, Lie With Me, 9 Songs, etc etc etc.. there's even an uncut version of the Melissa McCarthy comedy Spy, LOTS of films with PROMINANT erections and MORE.. there is NO hard and fast rule saying if an actor gets hard, filming has to stop. Sometimes, it's planned. Sometimes it's part of what has been discussed and part of what is going to be filmed. NO ONE is saying that he ACCIDENTALLY was hard/semi and they just didn't notice and left it in..

Check the MPAA ratings.

Nymphomanic was given NC-17 by MPAA, but the filmmakers rejected the rating, and revoke their film from MPAA.

Antichrist, Lie with Me, American Translation, 9 Songs (it received X rating in Australia tho) did not even submitted to MPAA, so they are unrated. Michael Fassbender's Shame was rated NC-17.

Meanwhile, The Voyeurs was rated R.

Do you see the difference? It is possible to have real erection or semi penis in movies. But it will not receive R rating, it will be at least NC-17.

R rating only accommodate penis in flaccid conditions

I cannot believe that this discussion is still going. So I guess they can now put prosthetics into every movie cause no one sees the difference between a real and a fake dick!

Eection prosthetic is also prohibited in R rating movies. But you can show it in TV shows that have M rating (e.g. Euphoria, multiple episodes). Cause TV ratings is not ruled by MPAA. They have their own standard.

The MPAA rating was indeed ridiculous. You know that an actor can show his flaccid penis swing left to right and get R rating. But you cannot show the penis swing upside down and get R rating.

But, if people believe that Ben Hardy had real erection or semi. You do you, bestie. It's your fantasy, go on. I'm just giving the information about MPAA regulations here. And if you choose to ignore MPAA regulations and living your fantasy, it's okay too

"I never had any issues with MPAA. If it’s R rated [targeted], you can basically do anything. You just can’t show erect penis. This is the thing with a penis (holds out hand with fingers curled, and slowly flattens his palm), it’s like R, R, R, R, NC-17. Including flopping. If you want to flop, you flop left to right, not up and down. That’s an actual thing" Nicholas Stroller

Lighthouse avoiding NC-17 by cutting erection scene:
Robert Eggers Says Original ‘Lighthouse’ Pitch Had an Erection, but Studios Didn’t Want NC-17 Movie

Ffs I wish he had been wearing boxers in the scene, I can't believe this argument is still raging

Not one of those movies you’ve mentioned are mainstream films. They’re all small indie films, Unrated or NC-17. Not R rated.

In case you didn’t know, you CAN NOT show a hard dick in an R rated film. A hard dick gets you an automatic NC-17 ratings. There have been a lot of films in history that had male frontal nudity in the screenplay but took it out to avoid a possible NC-17 rating.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High had full frontal male nudity but it was taken out because the ratings board gave them an X rating. They didn’t want that because that would be box office poison so they took it out to get the R rating.

If you actually look at the post I was replying to, I was negating someone saying that actors are not allowed to get hard during filming, which is not true, and I used extreme examples. NO ONE IS SAYING he got hard in this movie. It isn't even a proper frontal. All I have said this whole time is that we do not know 100% if it is a prosthetic or not.

Also, the "you cannot show a hard dick in a film without an automatic NC-17 rating" usually also applies to realistic prosthetics, so either way, the film would be NC-17 if it was considered an actual frontal with an actual erection, which its not.
