Ben Levin (actor)

It’s a shame their offscreen relationship seems better than what we get onscreen. : unamused:
I mean this was a given. Julic Plec will make sure that NO other relationship outshines Saint Hope & Landon.

I get a sense that she's already laying down the groundwork to break up Cleo and Kaleb.

Julie Plec hasn't been showrunner for at least the last season.

Brett Matthews is the current person in charge.

This last episode would have been SO MUCH better with tension building and higher stakes if any effort would have been put into building their relationship post-kiss.
There would have been much more of an impact when Jed was like, “I’ll handle Ben,” when Rick dismissed his concern for Ben, when Cleo said she knew Jed was worried about Ben, when they faced off in town, and ESPECIALLY when Ben said he was protecting someone he loved.

Jed’s response being something like, “Now’s the time you choose to tell me that?” when, given the minimal interactions we’ve seen, most people would be like, “Um…slow down. We just met.” Because a couple of episodes ago, Jed seemed awkward about getting close to Ben around the fire pit. He went to get more beers to get out of the awkwardness (is the way I took it), but before he got back Ben was kidnapped by Lizzie and Aurora. The next time they are together is this episode when Ben is about to kill Kaleb in town (unless I’m forgetting something).

Telling him he loves him made NO sense as a viewer without more relationship building. And now–they are at odds, and we didn’t get any of the important and sweet moments that we need to see any couple have to really be invested. It started out so good by showing those sweet moments pre-relationship, so I’m pretty disappointed.

And you think that means she doesn't have any influence anymore? I highly doubt that. She may not have an official position of power but you can be sure she's still consulted.

Given the fact that you can't even tell the difference between her and Brett tells me everything I need to know about her influence.

They are setting it up for Ben (the character) to die in some type of fashion. That whole spill Jed gave about "You fight with the ones you love, not against them" was a not-so-subtle hint that Ben is going jump in at the last second.

Either he's going to give his life to save one of the squad from an attack from Zeus or Zeus is going to kill him for betraying him.

I use kill as a general term but hell I'm sure Zeus could actually kill Ben if he wanted to.

Good news is the gay writer who basically made this whole plot line even happen (Julie and Brett don’t care about lgbt+ representation) has basically confirmed on his Twitter there will be a happy ending & that Ben won’t die

That's actually really good to hear!

Unfortunately it’s for the best. As much as I wanted it to get another season, this one has been mostly terrible. Evil Hope has dragged on way too long. Lizzie is so annoying. The Necromancer has been the worst villain ever. There was a lot of potential that was just completely wasted.

Ben and Jed were literally the only good thing to come out of this season.

At this point the CW has canceled basically everything I watched them for...... in favor of what? More Riverdale and a Supernatural prequal.. joy.
Seriously though! Several good shows I watched (a few non CW but still) have been cancelled yet the foolishness that is Riverdale gets like 20 Seasons smh.
