this trend of bisexuals speaking over gay men and projecting their heterosexual sex standards on us is deeply homophobic. yes, when you’re off fucking women, you need to err on the side of more explicit & enthusiastic consent because her biology means she can’t fight back and means procreation.
You literally sound like a rapist.
Explicit consent is the only kind of consent. Consent is not now nor will it ever be implied. We can all agree that whether gay straight bisexual or otherwise, there are lots of ways in which the road to enthusiastic consent is paved, but there is never a time during which you can just say "Oh well gay cis men are different and so explicit enthusiastic consent isn't really always the hard line in the sand." Fuck that shit.
I don't even understand how this conversation is happening.
Let's say just in THEORY that if you had sex with someone in the past and it was consentual (nevermind the fact that the person was in a position of power over you professionally)...
Let's ay just in THEORY that such previous consent leaves the door open for ongoing consent in the future in your personal life...
Being on the set of an indepedant film or TV series and filming a sex scene for that film is not even REMOTELY CLOSE to being in a one on one sexual situation in private.
Among other things, EVERYBODY WHO IS PRESENT ON THAT SET needs to have been informed that an unsimulated sex act is going to occur, and they need to have CONSENTED TO BEING PRESENT FOR IT.
Everyone who was involved in making that show who was and/or is trying to suggest that it was a sort of low-budget sexually liberated set with loose rules and blah blah blah... that is an absolute load of bullshit. It's for this very reason that film and TV sets that are regulated by the actor's unions no longer allow unsimulated sex acts under any circumstances, even if the actors participating agree to it.
"We had sex before and our sexual dynamic was complicated, and we were making a low budget TV show where the atmosphere was sexually freeing, so I felt like it was okay to put your dick in my mouth under the sheets while filming our sex scene even though we didn't discuss it beforehand" is about the biggest load of rapist apology bullshit I've ever heard in my life.
I'm glad this was finally reported to the police. I'm glad it's blowing up BJA's face, and I hope he gets arrested and tried like he deserves.
