Actually ( guess depends where you live) but a LOT of ppl here (nyc) do just that. I have friends (couples) who live in studio apts and occasionally splurge on a night of dinner, theater, and night at a 5star Hotel (on off nights when it's cheaper lol) It's like a mini-vacay. Last Fall we had a fam wedding at this venue here in Chelsea Piers and they practically bought out a tiny boutique hotel 5 mins away for the out of town guests, my sister lives here in the city she took one, so did a nephew and GF who also live here. It can be fun.
*But I do understand, I'd prolly say nobody does this or that and some poster from Kansas or Texas would say YES they do lol.
