Calhoun Sawyer

Things are different than they were 20 years ago. There’s not as many sites. Sites don’t pay what they used to. So, a large percentage of money is made from OnlyFans and escorting and building a following on social media. So, it’s important to maintain a brand. For example, he comes off mostly into black masculine guys on social media. But in his recent clip he claimed he’s more into fem dudes. To build a base, you need to come off “authentic”, even if that authenticity is phony.

There’s a few sites that maintain. But they're always bytching about people not buying. Shit like pirating and Onlyfans have definitely hurt gay porn more than the straight side. Gay porn needs to evolve. Focus on decent and charismatic performers instead of fantasy scenarios, placating and a tired ass focus on “straightness” and fetishizing non homo behaviors and identities.

When it comes to persona, it honestly depends what you’re trying to do. If you’re looking at porn as quick cash grabs, that’s one thing. But if you’re trying to build a social media following, get many to subscribe to your OF, come off as likable and authentic then just seeming like you’ll say whatever isn’t the route to go. But honestly, Calhoun just seems like he’s looking for validation and to be lusted after along with money of course.

His recent scene on NakedSword was awkward as hell. The first fifteen minutes was an “interview”. And he talked about “falling in love” with his female cousin and his stepsister when he was a teenager. I mean, he’s a redneck. We get it. But no one wants to hear that hetero inbred redneck shit before watching two guys have sex. And no one wants a long ass interview before a sex clip. Gay porn is getting more and more ridiculous. Then they wonder why no one subscribes to gay porn sites any longer.

They also really need to stop asking these dudes their identities and preferences. It’s not their business. It’s not really our business. You don’t see this obsession with asking straight porn performers their identities, preferences and lifestyles. While the constantly propping up and fetishizing non homo behaviors and identities has been tired.

Calhoun also keeps changing his persona. He’s said he’s “straight”. He’s said he’s “bi”. He’s said he’s “mostly into guys”. He’s suggested that the only thing he gets out of women is occasional sexual domination. In this latest scene he suggested that he can “fall in love” with anyone but also that he wasn’t into women at all sexually. I understand that fluidity and contradictions are legit. I get how much gay porn forces personas and identities on guys. And I get how complicated the gender, sexual, affection, emotional investment, commitment spectrum can be and how complicated psyche and mental health is. But it’s apparent he’ll be whatever these sites want him to be. And that’s fine. However, you don’t want to come off like you’re being manipulative or like your exuding gay shame or like you’re potentially only presenting yourself as being really into guys because of money and parties. I suppose it’s all just a game.
I used to follow his old Twitter account, it was a clip of him fucking a girl and he said they were both gay. Meaning she's a lesbian and he's gay. But he deleted the tweet.

The majority of porn performers/sex workers will sexually engage with practically anyone. Also, the majority are hyper-sexual and contend with degrees of fluidity and/or paraphiliacs. All of this includes perhaps most of the guys on the “straight side” of porn. Many of those dudes are sexually engaging with whoever off camera. Some are even overall homo-leaning and have whole ass boyfriends.

While yes, there are guys and women who take on “gay” and “lesbian” identities, but they’re not anywhere near homosexual and/or don’t live entirely homo lifestyles. Identities are often more about sense of self and their ego, who someone wants to fit in with and be accepted by, overall passions and preferences, where someone is in the sexual, romantic, affection, emotional investment, relationship commitment/relationship ambition spectrum. This is partially why we need to stop taking presented identities and presented behaviors as seriously as we do, especially when it comes to porn performers/sex workers.

Great post. Will no doubt rile many posters here who can only see the sexuality of others through their own narrative perspective.

Everyone has their own dimensions as far as sexuality, the development of their sexuality throughout their lives, their preferences, their emotions, their comfort, their investment, love, relationships, commitment, etc. That’s partly why we need to be careful as far as trying to demand people fully embrace “gay” or “straight” or “bi” identities. Hell, there are guys who are perhaps hetero-leaning when it comes to sexuality but when you look at the whole spectrum, they’re homo-leaning. Plenty of guys out here are having sex with tons of women but sleeping next to their homeboys at night and are ultimately more fulfilled with their sex and more invested when it comes to their sex. Yet, they’re presenting themselves as “straight” and as “players” when they’re actually hyper-sexual queers who contend with fluidity and who are overall homo-leaning. While most of these porn performers/sex workers tend to be more driven by money, subscribers, attention, validation, shoddy mental health than anything else. Once again, that’s why it’s best not to take everything they say and present so seriously.

Oh please. You're constantly on here trying to psychoanalyze everything and display your thoughts using the most complex terms in your vocabulary as an attempt to sound smarter than everyone. Knock it off. It's porn. Also, we don't use the word "queers" anymore and we haven't for decades. Not to mention some of the stuff you were saying earlier was flat out inaccurate and you also felt obliged to take potshots at him in what is supposed to be a fan thread of his.

Take a site like CF, where Sawyer used to work. I'd venture to guess the vast majority of the models that have worked for the site are bisexual to some degree (and to that extent, many of them had sex with men and women on the site). Some of the are/were gay and said as much. Nobody should be offended by these "labels" since that is what they are.

I’m not offended by “labels”. You’re the one that sounds offended. Are you mad because I said that we need to look past “labels” and accept that everyone has their own psychology, dimensions, sexualities, journeys, motivations and place within the orientation spectrum? Only a delicate flower and a basic ass person would be offended by that. While, yes, everyone uses identities and “labels” however they wish to. And yes, some folks do use “labels” and presented behaviors to build whatever persona they wish to build. That’s especially common in the world of sex work. I also don’t know where you’ve been, but “queer” is more widely used than it’s ever been, and almost every out public figure has embraced being seen as “queer”. What I said does convolute things and forces folks to look at people and their dimensions and motivations of as individual rather than almost entirely depending on identities or present behaviors. I guess some are offended by.

Lastly, this isn’t a fan thread or a “fan site”. This is a forum where people can discuss whatever they wish so long as it pertains to the person. Once again, you’re the one who seems “offended”.

Pretty hilarious since the vast majority of your posts are of the antagonist, whiny, confrontational nature. And then you call me a "delicate flower". Yeah, whatevs.

Why are you on here then? Do you have nothing better to do with your time than come on here and essentially call Sawyer an opportunistic, scamming, money-grubbing whore in the politest way possible? There are rules here. If you don't like Sawyer, then fine. There's no need to put him down however. And we certainly don't need you to constantly educate us on the usage of labels.

Stop trying to talk over our heads with your "everyone has their own psychological, physical, emotional dimensions" pseudo-intellectual crap. It's porn. Just enjoy it.

I actually like Sawyer/Calhoun for the most part, at least him as a performer and his persona. I like that he’s a verbal and passionate performer. And I find it refreshing to see less pretty boys and less muscled out dudes in gay porn. But that doesn’t mean I’m only gonna kiss ass or only talk about how hot someone is. There are a lot of folks who don’t get the porn industry, don’t truly get the nature of sexuality beyond identities or presented behaviors, don’t get individual motivations and don’t get the gender, romantic, sexual, affection, emotional investment, relationship commitment spectrum. You may see it as “intellectual”. This is normal conversation to me. While porn still has a ways to go as far as some of the problematic tendencies from some sites and some performers and some of the internal and ego struggles many of these performers indulge. There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that. I can understand why people who wish to make everything about their fantasies or make everything about their identities might have issues. I don’t see people as merely a fantasy or an identity, even if they do porn.

Everyone’s journey is different! I didn’t just wake up in gay porn one morning. I did have a best friend that turned out to be my 3rd cousin, that I didn’t know was my cousin. and I am an addict with mental health issues like millions of other people. And mark shouldn’t have ran that interview I haven’t seen it but I’m sure it was shit, I was in a bad place.

Twitter said I got banned for “sexual violence” I was messing around with Daniel Hausser to long smh. His crazy ass ex bc “jarred moon” tagged videos of us on Twitter multiple times without my knowledge. Bc e thought I wanted to steal his man dram shit. I tried to email Twitter multiple times and they would not restore my account. That being said Iv used drugs but Iv filmed with more studios then most models ever will and instead of wasting my money on drugs and booze, I bought stock in AA and trips all across Europe Berlin, Paris, Rome, Barcelona.. Sydney for my 30th birthday! www.brokestraightboys.com that ha ;) xoxo

I don’t know if that’s legit Calhoun or not. But if it is good luck to you.

This is why it’s best not to take porn performers and what they present all that seriously (and not to take identities and presented behaviors that extremely seriously in general). Many of the people in porn see the porn industry as a quick fix for their problems, as an ego boost or merely a quick way to make money and will pretty much do or say whatever to get that affirmation/attention/money. While this is someone who was recently hyping up being “gay” and talking about being homo-leaning when it comes to the romantic, sexual, affection, comfort, emotion, commitment spectrum. Now, (if that is Calhoun) they’re talking about being into chicks and claiming they’re “80% straight”.

I will say that dealing with mental health issues, addictions, past traumas, fluidity or contradictions, erratic ego and insecurities, and understanding the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotional investment, commitment spectrum- all of that is no joke. And the porn industry often probes and irritates problems rather than helps them. But we all do have our own dimensions, struggles and journeys. So, as I said, good luck. You did have a handful of appealing scenes.

I don’t think the interview was bad at all. I can see how it could be taken out of context but Calhoun articulated himself well. Definitely one of the best out there!!!
