Well, there you go... the teaser to his new music video. Pretty much confirms what his addiction video alluded to that he’s playing up his addiction/recovery narrative into some marketing gimmick for his music.

Essentially glamorizing/ romanticizing his addiction and the music he made while high and tacking on the sex addiction and finding God BS for marketing intrigue and appeal. Complete pandering. This is true. And untrue. As they say in Hollywood, it's not what you know, it's who you know. Coming from a privileged, well to do, upper-middle class family and having connections like Shawn sure did help, but he also had the talent to go with it, which was a positive.
There are millions of bored, rich and narcissistic people who think their money can buy them fame, but they still have no talent, and never make it.
