In the 1970s my father decided to chase a dream of operating a volunteer ambulance service. The small fleet of ambulances was comprised of a few Caddys and one or two Pontiacs. I don't believe there were any such things as the big boxy "meat wagons" of today. Despite his efforts, and my grandmother pouring in about $75K to help, he could not compete with the county and the venture failed after a few years.

1959 Ford Thunderbird convertible. I was just recently at the Gateway Auto Museum and it is a definite gem in a forgotten part of Colorado. The drive alone is well worth a visit.

I very seldomly drive any longer, but when I do this is my mode of transportation - 1994 6-Cylinder Ford Mustang Convertible with a white top. She turned 25 this year and was a gift from my step-father to my mother quite a few years ago.

I know! This was long before the movie, but when I saw it I was reminded of those ambulances from when I was a kid.
