Cardi B's Wap And Women Bragging About Their Sexual Ability

I mean.. this shit is not even remotely new. I am not a fan of Cardi B and have no idea who the fuck Megan is. Having said that. Lil Kim, Salt n Peppa, TLC, and plenty o others have made music about their sexuality, how desired they are, etc. So. Uh. I do not really care? What, ppl are supposed to care because women are doing it? I mean, I guess. It still is not really accepted in mainstream culture that women are sexual beings, compared to how it is in many cases the accepted norm if someone with a penis is a horndog. Male musicians have been making music about sex for decades. Meh. Sex sells to a lot of folk, whether it is music, cars, video games, etc. You have thirsty idiots throwing money at "gamer girl" bath water. The individuals or their managers are savvy. They know how to separate fools from their money.

I think some folks really just go outta their way to be outraged. I have other things that require my time, attention, n energy way before "oh my god a song about sex".

The outrage is stupid.

Having said that, TLC and Salt and Pepper and Spinderella were poetic compared to this WAP song.

I just listened to my first Cardi B song, WAP.

It is an OK song, but it is just Cardi B and some other woman talking about how good they are at sex. The title WAP is an acronym for "wet ass pussy", so I knew what I was getting into when I clicked on the video. I'm not shocked by the content of the song, but my reaction to it.

The song has many things that I like, a lot of sex talk and a few instances where the women say they only want men with big dicks, however I found myself rolling my eyes instead of being turned on. After the song ended I couldn't help thinking that the women in the song were probably average in bed at best. It was like a guy who won't shut up about his big dick. You know that behind all that boasting, is just an average sized guy or maybe even a guy with a small dick. Hung studs don't need to declare to the world that they're hung. They let their bulges do the talking. I think it is the same with women who have WAPs, they don't need to boast.

Am I off base? Is this just sour grapes? What do you think of women who boast about their sexual ability?
I've seen the vid. Yeah, it's highly sexualised, very funny... but so what?

It's because it's two women, otherwise no-one would care very much. As has been pointed out, male rappers have been doing similar for years without so much comment.

The reactions of many, and I think the question here I think, display thinly veiled misogyny.

Megan Thee Stallion ate that verse and completely outshined Cardi with her lyrics. Aside from that I agree with what others have already said. This isn't new or that shocking to those of us that came up on some of the female rappers of the past that rapped about their sexual exploits. There were female rappers in the 80s such as Salt N Peppa that were explicit but I think Lil Kim and Foxy Brown ushered in the era of straight up raunchy female rap. Missy Elliot, Eve, and other female rappers did so to a lesser extent.

The thing I don't like about much about the song? They have to rap about being size queens, and that gets applied to women generally, because people are fucking stupid.

I also don't like how everyone is acting like this is the first time a woman has written a song like this. Uh... Lil Kim. Trina. Gangsta Boo. This shit is old news to me because Cardi B is far from the first woman to write lyrics like this. But for whatever reason, everyone makes everything she does a huge deal.

Don't get me wrong, I like the song. I don't mind Cardi generally, even though my taste in rap leans a bit darker.. I just don't understand why people hear that song and get all riled up when it's FAR from the first is it's kind.

This was released in the 90's

I think Cardi is just overrated.

Should it be? The video and song came off as very male gaze-ey to me.

Yup.

She knows how to get men to pay her.. That's why some of those men hate her/want to be inside her.

Even the size talk. I don't think I've ever heard ANY woman rapper go an entire album without mentioning dick size at least once. Likely reason: rap music is still and always has been male dominated and they know what their audience wants to hear. Just look around. You fuckers love talking about the size of your dicks. Don't hate on a lady for figuring you out and making money off you for it.

La Chat another example of a kinky bitch rapping about how she like to get that pussy licked.
I love that shit.

Sounds like sound advice to me. Way more useful than that doctor phil fucker

Think you're over analysing. It's a fun song, female rappers have been rapping about sex, sexuality, how hard they fuck from the start. Are they average in bed? Well Cardi was a stripper and who knows what else, I would think they could both get their freak on and show you a good fucking time.

Or maybe she just likes big dicks.

"Ain't nothin in this world that I like more than checks" is a real line from a Cardi B song.

She had a lucrative gig as a stripper who drugged her clients and robbed them. If she was just into big dicks then she probably would have stayed in that field.

Totally possible, but in my opinion not particularly likely.

I really don't care that much. If she refused dick based on size at any time in her life, good for her. I've been rejected for physical traits before, so I don't really give a shit. If she wants big dick, cool. If she's using it because she knows idiots are obsessed with their size and she'll get paid/attention for it, cool.

Doesn't matter to me. I just think it's funny how some people are freaking the fuck out over a song. Not really all that kinky of one, either. That song is what the mainstream expects to be "kinky". It's really not that riskay. Funny as fuck how everyone is acting like it is.

I agree, it isn't really that explicit. I was expecting much more.

Considering the whole of the video, you're probably right about them using dick size to excite men.

Let me ask you something, was the sex they described in the song the ideal sexual experience as you've heard it described by other women?

I've heard ideal sex described in say many different ways by different women I would have to say yes and no.

Some women? Sure. All women? Obviously not. Most women? Wouldn't know, because we're all very different and our likes/sexual interests change and evolve over time and experience.

I personally like the song... I especially like the beginning of the song with the old school song and club favorite “Thwre some Hoes in this house; There some hoes in this house”... Takes me back...

I love this song because the concerns and complaints about it are a beautiful litmus test for male sexual insecurities and anxiety. Personally im not for the commoditization of sex..but I cannot nor will i knock the necessary hustle, trust me if i could control my clientele, Id be OnlyFansing it up right now. I also find it interesting how dick size is so focused upon...granted Cardi is quite descriptive of her preferences(shout out to Offset!)..but i find it interesting that Meg, the larger and younger of the two said a couple of lines specifically referencing her openness to different sizes(Lifestyle if the Magnum dont fit) provided the dick was skillful and effective(slappin).
This song was made to be enjoyed by all unless you make an effort to not..or you just dont like hip hop, which is ok.
