I'm not really surprised. He's going against some heavy hitters. Now if he was a nepo baby then maybe he would've gotten nominated like Jamie Lee Curtis last year

Not surprising. His PR team did a good job though of getting his name out there. Charles even got a NY Times focused article.

He will have an opportunity to network at the Oscars since May December is nominated for Best Picture. He should take advantage of this opportunity. A lot of heavy hitters will be there.

He'll present an award most likely but it does suck he officially missed (even if the moment he missed SAG after missing the BAFTA long list I knew he was missing this). So in a way I've had a lot of time to get over it even if it is still sad. I hope he doesn't take it too hard though.

He should now really be on the hunt for his first Oscar nomination. I look forward to seeing him in future roles.

I'd really like to see him continue the serious actor route but I doubt that's gonna happen now without the nomination. By any luck he gets to be a leading man in something... Or gets to co-star in a big franchise.
